_{[When the camera comes on, Heather's lying on her back on her sleeping bag with Cujo draped over her stomach and a sulky expression on her face. The bandage formerly tied over her eye (looking distinctly nasty now) is crumpled off to the side and in its place is a hot compress, which she's holding gently to the wounded area with one hand. She seems to be holding the PokeGear up above her with the other. Least flattering Myspace-shot ever.]}

So-- how long do I have to keep this thing on?

_{[She's talking to somebody off-camera and judging by the ever-so-patient tone of the reply she gets, which is sort of indistinct but along the lines of 'Until I say you can take it off', that somebody is Otacon.]}

But Haaaaaal.

_{[There is no reply.]}

..... Fine, fine...

I'll just stay here and stew in my misery.

_{[There's a laugh from off the screen and another indistinct reply that is apparently amused at Heather's overdramatic whining and not sympathetic like she'd been hoping. So Heather makes a pouty face and turns her head just slightly so that she can stick her tongue out in his general direction before looking back to the camera.]}

His Dictatorship over there is reveling in his regime of oppression and I'm bored.

Someone please distract me.

_{[Yeeeeah, admittedly she doesn't look anywhere near as terrible as she did on the day she staggered out of the woods like some kind of horrible swamp monster, but the whole 'I got run over by a bear' look sadly wasn't about to go away in just a few days.]}

By this point, it could be the lamest joke ever and it'd still be better than lying here. Go for it!

_{[She's just kiddin' around, of course. Because the idea of Liquid being the only one there in a dress is too funny for her to let go of.]}

[as much as Sora wants to scold, he can't hardly be upset with Heather-- if that injury's the result of the fog, then it's not really her fault, is it? he pauses, thinking for a minute.]

Well, okay! Here goes.

A string walks into an ice cream shop to get an ice cream cone. When it's his turn to pick out an ice cream flavor, the shopkeeper says, I'm sorry but we don't serve string here.

The string's really disappointed, but he says okay and walks out. But then, the more he thinks about it, the more he realizes he really wants an ice cream cone-- so he decides to disguise himself. So he ties himself in a loop, musses up his hair a bit and walks back into the ice cream shop.

When he gets back to pick his ice cream flavor, the shopkeeper says, Hey, aren't you that string?

The string pauses, then says, No, I'm a frayed knot.

_{[Yeah, as reckless as Heather can be, going out and looking for grievous injuries isn't exactly her idea of a good time.]

[Heather listens patiently to the joke, shifting the compress around on her eye a little.]

[... And when he finishes, she laughs, because she's a sucker for stupid puns! _{Unless they're coming from Jack Skellington because that 'humerus' pun was just way too painful to bear.}]}

I haven't heard that one before!

Oh, yeah. Right next to Liquid and his flowing white gown.

_[S-sniff.]

I'm tearing up just imagining it.

_{[... More because she's trying not to laugh than because of the ~*~overwhelming majesty~*~ of the mental image, but yeah.]}

[look at him light up like a torch at her laughter.]

Really? It's the best one I've got!

_{[Heather likes to laugh. Her sense of humor was what kept her going a lot of the time.]}

_{[Heather let go of the compress for a moment so she could clasp a hand over her heart and nod, tearfully.]}
