_{[Things have been oddly silent on Heather's end of the line over the past day or so. She hasn't been responding much to other transmissions, or even to private messages. Right after all that chaos, too-- you'd think that given she WORKED at the Goldenrod Department Store, she'd be on the network constantly with all kinds of 'This is CRAZY, you guys'-style transmissions about Evil Bitch-Supervisor of Death bullying all the Officer Jennies for not stopping the robbery or how there was a soda machine with a fist-shaped hole clean through it or something. But no-- nothing.]

[And her friends at the hotel may have noticed that she didn't wind up coming back to her room that night.]

[When the feed does come on, it's a little more obvious as to why.]}

_{[What? Heather in a POKEMON CENTER? Could she be...? ... Nah. She's obviously not in there for herself, although both of her arms are heavily bandaged and a few nasty-looking, angry red scratches are peeking over the edge of the gauze.]

[But she's sitting hunched on the floor by one of the recovery-ward beds for Pokemon, her vest lying in cushioning pile behind her and a battered-looking Cujo asleep by her side. She looks tired... even more tired than she's been otherwise, lately, which was saying something. And judging by the way she kept glancing up at the Pokeballs encased in the incubatory healing device sitting gently on the cot next to where she's sitting, her Pokemon are the real reason she's in here.]

[The camera shakes, then bobbles a little closer, and Heather finally notices. She turns her head to the camera, frowning at first, but then a wry, half-amused smile quirks her mouth slightly.]}

Was wondering where you were, y'little weirdo.

_{[She leans over and reaches out, grabbing the camera and tugging it with some difficulty away from whatever's holding it]}

You must be worried if you're not chewing on it... the other guys are fine. Relax.

_{[The mystery-filmer is revealed as the fat little Totodile toddles over and tries to wedge itself into Heather's lap. She rolls her eyes and lets out a gusty sigh but lets her legs slide down so that there's more room. Now that the camera's on her, though, she frowns a little at the sight of the little red 'Record' light, but then shrugs. Oh well. While she's on...]}

So, uh, police.

The hell were you last night?

I could've used the help.

_{[Her tone makes it obvious that working with the cops isn't exactly the first thing on her agenda, but there you go.]

[She doesn't need to say that a lot of people got hurt-- the rest of the network probably already knows that, it's had to have been all over the news by now.]}

_{[She goes quiet again, rubbing the back of her head. Scritch. She... doesn't feel as talkative as usual.]}

... Oh yeah. Last thing. Joker.

_{[Reaching out next to her, she picks a handful of something that chinks and glitters in the low light. A bunch of coins! She grins.]}

Think you dropped these, Bozo.

_{[They might have seen this limping towards the Pokemon Center looking surly after a particularly embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Joker (AND after the effects of Confusion wore off)... although she didn't go out without a fight.]}

_{[ooc: Feel free to action if your character was injured during/after the robbery and they'd be in the Pokemon Center too!]}

_{[Heather's so used to getting wounded that she's long since perfected the art of grinning and bearing it when something hurts, but she can tell the poor kid's worried.]}

Long story... I kinda had a run-in with the Joker. Turns out that guy's a lot tougher than he looks. Who'd have thought, huh?

The one with the goofy hair?

[like you're one to talk, Sora. he is frowning the biggest frownyface in the history of Sora frownyfaces right now, but at the same time he's trying to quell it. key word here is trying.]

... Heather, every time you turn on your video feed something hardcore's happened, huh?

Yeah, the hair that looks like he's been mistaking the aloe vera for shampoo for years.

_{[Awh... poor little guy.]}

And I get to have mummy arms for a week. How cool is that? _{[She lifts her bandaged arms and crosses them over her chest, Egyptian-style, for demonstration!]}

[there's that smile of his, accompanied by an amused snort. as long as Heather's in good spirits, he has no reason to be down in the dumps! he'll still worry, of course, and if she squints she could pick that out in his expression, but he'll be joking along with her now.]

You're gonna give me gray hair one of these days, you know that? [and scold playfully, too.] Either that or I'll go bald.

I think you should wrap completely up in toilet paper to complete the mummy look and prank your boss.

_{[She's got her beefs with this whole situation, and she hasn't forgotten about Dahlia... but she's not going to let it get her so down that it brings everyone else with her. Heather is the master of laughing at her own misfortune.]}

Don't complain, it'll make you look wise and sophisticated. Maybe I'll give you a majestic beard to go with it, too.

And that is a fantastic idea.

[he strokes his (forever Squenix and beardless, sadly) chin thoughtfully, turning this idea over and over in his mind.]

I guess I could work with a beard if it makes me look wise! I've got plans for the old fart home.

_{[Clearly the solution for this is for her to find him a giant ridiculous fake beard and give it to him for Christmas.]}

You'll be the best thing to happen to retirement homes since motorized wheelchairs.

[and he'll wear it quite seriously every time they talk on the 'gear. at least until one of them caves and starts laughing.]

I've got plans for those, too! I just need to find someone who can modify them to make 'em go faster than a crawl.

Because, as awesome as majestic gray beards are, I don't think I could pull one off. So you don't need to give me one.

[Heather's got a point-- Sora's having a hard time picturing her with gray hair, too. he's somewhat of a trouble magnet himself, though he's been doing really well in Johto! no disasters that haven't been Dartanian in a long time.]

I'll try my best, too! You don't need any facial hair; I like you as you are.

I tried growing a glorious mustache once and it didn't go so well. Turns out I'd need a monocle to pull that off right.
