Okay, Who's She Packing?

No.58 Cujo: Growlithe, the Puppy Pokemon

The quintessential Big Friendly Idiot Dog that people tend to either love or hate. He's enormous, dumb as a box of hammers, and loves everyone. Occasionally mistaken for a very small Arcanine.
-Species: Growlithe
-Type: Fire
-Obtained: New Bark Town, fateful encounter.
-Gender: Male
-Level: 100
-Nature: Quirky, somewhat of a clown.
-Ability: Flash Fire (Powers up Fire-type moves if hit by a fire move.)
-Moves: Return*, Iron Tail*, Bite, Roar, Ember, Odor Sleuth, Helping Hand, Flame Wheel, Reversal, Fire Fang, Take Down, Flamethrower, Agility, Crunch, Heat Wave, Flare Blitz
-Background: Cujo is Heather's very first Pokemon, having been given to her as her starter all the way back in New Bark Town.
Heather's relationship with him went through several phases, beginning with venomous hate (considering she has a phobia of both dogs and fire, Cujo was pretty much like an overlapping circle graph containing everything she hates. The nickname 'Cujo', a completely blatant reference to the Stephen King horror of the same name, began purely as a pejorative; eventually it just stuck as his actual name because he started answering to it) and poorly-disguised fear, which became empathy during a particularly nightmarish event during which she beat the crud out of him, thinking he was a monster from back home. When he stayed by her side to protect her anyway, she came to start caring about him, and ever since then has slowly been working towards coping with her phobia.
At this point, she is almost completely comfortable with Cujo, even playfighting with him and Not Having Terrible Panic Attacks when she wakes up to him jumping all over her. Although she continues to call him all the same insulting names she did when she first got him, it's out of affection now (even though he's not really smart enough to know the difference) and she genuinely loves her big dumb mutt. That said, despite having had a Firestone carefully wrapped up in her bag for YEARS now, Heather is extremely reluctant to evolve him. Despite the fact that she has become incredibly close to and comfortable with him, she's seen what an Arcanine looks like and is secretly a little afraid that if he becomes that big, she'll start being scared of him again.

No.162 Arty: Furret, the Long Body Pokemon

Picture the unholy lovechild of a wolverine and Grumpy Cat. She's grouchy, made of pointy ends, and bites to show affection. Although her species is known for being adorable, the only time Arty makes any effort to look endearing is in front of someone who has food that she wants, and even that act goes out the window once they catch onto the cloud of bitchiness that hides behind those big Furret eyes.
-Species: Furret
-Type: Normal
-Obtained: Route 29, wild-caught.
-Gender: Female
-Level: 100
-Nature: Naughty, proud of its power.
-Ability: Keen Eye (Prevents the Pokémon from losing accuracy.)
-Moves: Thunder*, Dig*, U-Turn*, Scratch, Foresight, Defense Curl, Fury Swipes, Helping Hand, Follow Me, Slam, Rest, Sucker Punch, Amnesia, Baton Pass, Me First, Hyper Voice
-Background: Part of Arty's bitterness may have to do with the rather unorthodox way she joined Heather's team. Being one of the many wild Pokemon sent swarming by an unfortunate Sweet Scent accident on Route 29, the wild Sentret who would one day come to be Arty was not even remotely expecting to have a human being chase her down and personally wrestle her into a Pokeball, which is literally what happened because Heather had just arrived in Johto and hadn't bothered to read up on the REAL way you were supposed to catch Pokemon.
To add insult to injury, Arty's nickname was borne of Heather's passive-aggressive attempts to show her displeasure with the whole kidnapped-into-another-world situation by coming up with terminally uncreative names. 'Raccoon Thing' became R.T. became Arty.
Arty is pretty much like the oldest child who had to suffer through all the awful parenting mistakes that first-time moms make. Needless to say, Heather is a much better trainer now than she was when she caught Arty.
Despite her terminal grumpiness, Arty isn't a total jerk. She IS rather lazy and spends most of her time lounging around near heaters (or campfires) and patches of sunlight, or sending sour looks at whoever happened to breathe wrong in her presence-- BUT she does show occasional affection to anyone who's been friends with Heather long enough, and does look out for her team-mates, even if it's mostly only when no one's around (ask the people who broke into Heather's hotel room to steal her stuff once. They'll remember her.
Heather, for her part, constantly teases Arty on account of finding her grouchiness hilarious, but is tolerated. After all, she's only a stupid human and Arty knows that nobody's perfect.

No.164 Claudy: Noctowl, the Owl Pokemon

Picture an ordinary day. You're like, chilling with your friend Heather, maybe thinking about grabbing a snack, and then she's all like, "Dude, I totally have some bags of chips in my bag, help yourself if you're hungry."
So you're like, why not, and head over to her bag. You open it and reach in, expecting to feel the crinkly plastic of a bag of Dodritos (tm).
Except you don't.
You feel a warm, feathered body.
Startled, you look in, and see only a pair of round red eyes staring up at you from the infernal darkness.
The eyes proceeded to scream like Satan stubbing his toe.
And then you fall over backwards and your dickhead friend Heather is laughing her brains out.

-Species: Noctowl
-Type: Normal/Flying
-Obtained: Route 31, wild-caught.
-Gender: Female
-Level: 100
-Nature: Timid, somewhat vain
-Ability: Insomnia (Prevents the Pokémon from falling asleep.)
-Moves: Psychic*, Ominous Wind*, Tackle, Growl, Foresight, Hypnosis, Peck, Reflect, Confusion, Take Down, Air Slash, Zen Headbutt, Extrasensory, Psycho Shift, Roost, Dream Eater
-Background: Claudy was the third Pokemon Heather ever captured, and was caught largely as a last resort, because she'd been sitting somewhere directly over Heather's head and noises like a possessed hairdryer and who can sleep through that, it's pretty much impossible.
But aside from her occasional spurts of horrifying old-woman-in-pain sounds, Claudy was very quiet, proving to be a somewhat shy and timid Hoothoot with a love of hiding away in dark places. Like, you know, the safety of Heather's bag. This led to many, many instances of poor unsuspecting souls opening it up and coming face to face giant terrifying owl eyes and a cry of "STOP! YOU ARE UPSETTING THE OWLBAG." from Heather, who naturally found the whole thing hilarious no matter how many times it happened.
But on a more sensitive note, Claudy was named for her quiet and timid nature, which Heather found reminiscent of an old friend, back before everything went far south. Not, of course, that she ever admits this when questioned about it.
Claudy eventually evolved of course, and went from being timid to simply being quiet and rather mysterious (not unlike her namesake). She can sometimes be aloof, although displays of affection for her trainer and her friends are not unusual-- she also has a motherly streak in her and is fiercely protective of any Pokemon she considers her baby, whether she laid their eggs or not (case in point: Cheryl the Eevee.)
Her love of bags never left her, despite having grown too large to fit in her old one anymore upon evolution (though not for lack of trying). Several months later, Heather received a large sports bag as a Christmas gift, and, delighted, Claudy promptly moved into that one, despite her trainer's protests. That is where she now spends most of her time when she's not out hunting, or perching on a bedpost giving people creepy judgmental stares.
After Heather met Henry Townshend and his Hoothoot, Claudy mysteriously laid a clutch of eggs and to date is the only one of Heather's Pokemon to have had children. Most of her babies wound up bought by other trainers, although one stayed with Harry Mason and was named Dolly.

No.159 Godzilla: Croconaw, the Big Jaw Pokemon

Beginning life as a spoiled, bratty little blue tater tot, Godzilla performed a Heel Face Turn at some point and is now the team's resident neurotic worrywart.
-Species: Croconaw
-Type: Water
-Obtained: Violet City, trade/egg. Route 34, hatched. (via Demyx)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 72
-Nature: Rash, scatters things often
-Ability: Torrent (Powers up Water-type moves in a pinch.)
-Moves: Focus Punch*, Strength*, Scratch, Leer, Water Gun, Rage, Bite, Scary Face, Ice Fang, Thrash, Crunch, Slash, Screech, Thrash, Aqua Tail, Superpower, Hydro Pump
-Background: Heather received Godzilla as an egg in a trade, and he proved to be a feisty little thing even moments after hatching-- resisting any and all attempts to be removed from his egg once it started to crack. Hey, who could blame him? It's comfy in there and you don't have to do anything but sleep! His namesake, continuing the pseudo-tradition for famous monster names started by Cujo, is obvious.
As he grew up, he was rather precocious, but incredibly immature and entitled, something that eventually caused the rest of the team to grow somewhat disdainful of him. Although Heather didn't actively baby him much or encourage the bad behavior, she didn't really do much to stop it either and as a result, Godzilla grew up with a somewhat inflated sense of self-importance, actively refusing to evolve on account of wanting to stay 'the baby' forever. Naturally, he started growing somewhat resentful when he was no longer the youngest on the team and in fact had no business behaving like a spoiled brat anymore. This eventually came to a head during a Team Rocket plot resulting in water Pokemon being driven mildly crazy by a radio broadcast-- although not normally an aggressive Pokemon, Zilla grew upset that Heather wasn't paying attention to him for like five minutes and promptly bit her arm full-force.
The aftermath of that was his subsequent shunning by the rest of the team (at least for a little while) and his after-the-fact realization that... holy shit, he was such a little CREEP.
After a period of doing everything in his power to earn Heather's favor back (ranging from sulking a little over how "bad" he was to genuinely making attempts to be a better Pokemon), Zilla eventually decided that as part of showing he'd 'grown up', he should evolve-- which he did (although he continues to refrain from evolving to a Feraligatr just yet, wanting to wait until he feels he has 'earned' it)! Although Heather remained wary of him for some time after the bite, she is back on good terms with him again and delighted by his evolution, even though she doesn't quite get why his behavior changed so drastically after the one violent episode.
He continues to search for other ways to improve himself and be a better Pokemon, and frequently worries about the safety of his trainer and his team-mates, ironically fretting over the immature stunts Heather pulls sometimes the same way she used to worry about what HE got into whenever she wasn't looking. He also worries about her hair attracting Combee, their hotel room being hit by meteors, and whether or not talking on the PokeGear for long periods of time can cause cancer.

No.12 Honey: Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokemon

Honey is the very definition of easy-going. He likes sweets. That's about it. If you're willing to share a plate of cookies, he'll be your pal forever.
-Species: Butterfree
-Type: Bug/Flying
-Obtained: Goldenrod City, gift. (via Zack Faire)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 79
-Nature: Gentle, loves to eat
-Ability: Shield Dust (Blocks the added effects of attacks taken.)
-Moves: Tackle, String Shot, Harden, Confusion, Poison Powder, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, Gust, Supersonic, Whirlwind, Psybeam, Silver Wind, Tailwind, Safeguard, Captivate, Bug Buzz
-Background: Honey was given to Heather by a trainer who had no place for another Bug Pokemon in his team, and while she doesn't use him a whole lot, his array of status and psychic moves made him a useful asset early on in her journey. A breezy, easygoing Pokemon, he's content to drift around in the background and watch all the action from afar-- before filming privileges were juggled around to other Pokemon/she acquired stronger fliers, Heather frequently had him carry a 'camera-Pokemon' into the air for cool aerial shots of her gym battles.

No.78 Carousel: Rapidash, the Fire Horse Pokemon

Carousel is a gentle soul with a particular fondness for children, be they human or Pokemon. Despite this, she is one of Heather's strongest battlers. Also, she's a unicorn that's on fire.
-Species: Rapidash
-Type: Fire
-Obtained: Goldenrod City, gift. (via Otacon and Liquid Snake)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 100
-Nature: Docile, likes to run
-Ability: Run Away (Enables sure getaway from wild Pokémon.)
-Moves: Solar Beam*, Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip, Ember, Flame Wheel, Stomp, Flame Charge, Fire Spin, Take Down, Inferno, Agility, Fire Blast, Fury Attack, Bounce, Flare Blitz
-Background: Heather received Carousel as a Ponyta on her first Christmas morning spent in Johto-- after she had literally been BOUGHT OFF THE BACK OF A VAN by one of Heather's well-intentioned but rash friends. But despite the high potential for being some weird dysfunctional backyard-bred Pokemon, she proved to be a very calm and steadfast creature, which was a relief for Heather-- she'd already had to get used to a rambunctious fire-breathing DOG, she didn't need to deal with a PONY ON FIRE running around too. Especially not when horses, like dogs, bring back some bad memories from home.
Although Carousel has never given Heather reason to fear her, the girl still can't help but feel some trepidation when around her, particularly after she evolved and got like twice as big. Unlike Cujo, Carousel actually has like. OPEN FLAMES ON HER AT ALL TIMES and for a long time that was just a little too much for Heather, who still feels nervous around the fire horse even though intellectually she trusts her just fine.
Despite her unease, several disturbing encounters with a malicious entity during certain strange weekends twice a year prompted Heather to try her best to overcome her fears and actually learn to ride Carousel. It took effort and some help, but she managed to power through her phobias enough to become at least proficient at riding, though she still practices regularly to keep improving.

No.359 Alessa: Absol, the Disaster Pokemon

Cautious, mistrustful, pessimistic, and just slightly paranoid, Alessa is a Pokemon who doesn't predict catastrophic disasters so much as personal ones that might happen. Whether they're likely to or not.
-Species: Absol
-Type: Dark
-Obtained: Goldenrod City, fateful encounter.
-Gender: Female
-Level: 86
-Nature: Lonely, often lost in thought
-Ability: Super Luck (Heightens the critical-hit ratios of moves.)
-Moves: Will-O-Wisp*, Dark Pulse*, Thunder*, Protect*, Return*, Icy Wind*, Feint, Scratch, Leer, Taunt, Quick Attack, Razor Wind, Pursuit, Swords Dance, Bite, Double Team, Slash, Future Sight, Sucker Punch, Detect, Night Slash, Me First, Psycho Cut, Perish Song
-Background: Heather received Alessa's egg as a mystery Christmas gift, and was a liiiiiiiiittle freaked out by just how appropriate the choice was. There was no real trauma or poor treatment in the Absol's background to justify her extreme pessimism, but given her species' unfortunate reputation, perhaps it's not surprising that she's so mistrustful of strangers. Her name was given, obviously, for Heather's past self-- another misunderstood soul who meant well but wasn't, uh. Received well.
Although most Pokemon are fairly protective of their trainers (and Heather's are no exception), Alessa takes it to another level. Very much a "one person" Pokemon, she is almost venomously hostile (although not usually physically aggressive) to anyone she deems fishy (such individuals can range from actual sleazes to merely friendly strangers) and lives by the philosophy of 'Expect the worse, that way you'll never be disappointed' when it comes to her trainer's protection. Heather is somewhat aware of this, and frequently travels with Alessa at her side rather than Cujo when she's in a bad part of town or anywhere else that has an ominous atmosphere. Because... yeah. Although Cujo's size might be more intimidating, chances are the more-serious (and more-intelligent) Absol is a more accurate indicator of threats than the perpetually-goofy Growlithe. On the other hand, she abstains from taking Alessa with her anywhere she knows there will be a lot of people, because nothing chills the atmosphere of a party like a Pokemon associated with impending doom glaring balefully at anyone who approaches you.
Of course, people who grow exceptionally close to Heather are usually accepted by Alessa, and she is on good terms with most of Heather's other Pokemon (barring Godzilla, who she still hasn't forgiven for the biting incident, and Wren, who she thinks is an irresponsible trouble-maker), particularly Carousel the Rapidash and Cheryl the Eevee, who frequently seem to take efforts to make her be more cheerful.
This has resulted in her mellowing out some, although she's still suspicious of anyone she doesn't really know. She's also used to being blown off by Heather, but ... well. God forbid said suspicions wind up being proven right at any point. She won't be happy.

No.133 Cheryl: Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon

What is an Eevee? Fox? Rabbit? Owl? Bag? We just don't know.
-Species: Eevee
-Type: Normal
-Obtained: Violet City, egg/trade. Goldenrod City, hatched. (via Gaga)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 17
-Nature: Gentle, highly curious
-Ability: Run Away (Enables sure getaway from wild Pokémon.)
-Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Helping Hand, Sand Attack, Growl, Quick Attack, Bite, Baton Pass, Take Down, Last Resort, Trump Card
-Background: The whole team loves Cheryl. Like, to itty bitty pieces. The Eevee is pretty much sweetness incarnate, aside from a very tiny and virtually always-harmless mischievous streak. Even Arty is marginally less grumpy towards her than anyone else. Cheryl is particularly close to Claudy (who she pretty much considers to be her mommy, and the feeling is mutual) and Alessa, with whom Cheryl acts as both an eternally-patient little sister as well as a bit of a grounding force when Alessa gets too bitter or stressed.
Heather, for her part, loves Cheryl too, but lately has been experiencing some worries about, specifically concerning the fact that Eevees are supposed to evolve via happiness, but Cheryl (despite seeming perfectly happy and having been on the team for a long period of time) has shown no signs of evolving whatsoever. Little does Heather know, this is deliberate on the part of the Eevee, who has noticed how uncomfortable Heather seems to be around canine Pokemon (Cujo being the big exception). Serenely, the little Eevee has decided to wait before evolving in hopes of ensuring that her trainer is comfortable with it before it happens.
Due to her small size and physical 'defect' (unlike most Eevees, Cheryl's fennec-like ears... don't seem to WORK. Rather than standing up and swiveling around, they hang limply and drag on the ground like a lop-rabbit's. They're also a little larger than normal, making things even worse), the other Pokemon (and Heather) tend to dote on her.
As for her backstory, out of all the Pokemon Heather's ever received, the story of Cheryl joining the team is probably the weirdest.
It all began when Heather was making her way to Goldenrod City alone, in the middle of a horrendous rainstorm. Little did she know, a pseudo-friendly acquaintance with an abundance of Eevee eggs he needed to get rid of had been intending to give one to her-- but after failing to find her in person before she left, settled for stuffing one of the eggs into her bag and promptly forgot about it. When she finally got to the Goldenrod hotel, soaked and distracted, and began to investigate the contents of her larger bag for the first time in several days for water damage... she discovered (after first removing Claudy) a tiny newborn Eevee, surrounded by crushed eggshells.
Not knowing what had transpired before her departure from Violent, Heather arrived at the only logical conclusion: her owl had somehow immaculately conceived a fox.
The fact that Claudy was pretty much convinced that the Eevee was HER BB (tm) did not help matters.
Heather still has no idea what really happened.

No.198 Wren: Murkrow, the Darkness Pokemon

Quoth the raven, "Butts."
-Species: Murkrow
-Type: Dark/Flying
-Obtained: Violet City, gift/egg. Violet City, hatched. (via Kazooie)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 46
-Nature: Naughty, highly curious
-Ability: Super Luck (Heightens the critical-hit ratios of moves.)
Moves: Air Cutter*, Swift*, Peck, Astonish, Pursuit, Haze, Wing Attack, Night Shade, Assurance, Taunt, Faint Attack, Mean Look, Foul Play, Tailwind, Sucker Punch, Torment, Quash
-Background: Smart, creative, playful ... and bored. Wren is the real-life version of a teenage delinquent stuck in the body of one of the most intelligent kinds of birds in the world. In fact, she's pretty much the Pokemon version of Heather during her early high school years. Mischievous, prone to stealing shiny objects, and always looking for a laugh, this playful bird is the terror of Heather's team, and PROUD of it. Heather received Wren as an egg from a friend for a Valentine's Day present. Nothing about her background is wholly remarkable aside from the fact that Heather had never had to deal with a bigger brat-- not even Godzilla.
Despite the ridiculous amount of trouble Wren causes, Heather is very fond of her. Possibly because they share similar larger-than-life attitudes and senses of humor. Wren is a constant source of amusement for Heather, whether it's her antics or her 'big-dog' mentality-- in addition to just being a trickster, Wren is also full of bravado and total confidence in her own cleverness and charm. Heather spends 90% of the time scolding her and the other 10% encouraging her for the sake of a good laugh.
Out of all of Heather's Pokemon, Wren is the only one who can talk! Which she does. Frequently. And often obscenely. Like a small child, Wren has a knack for picking up exactly the WORST words and immediately running them into the ground-- made worse by the fact that she rarely speaks in full sentences and tends to spout words and phrases rather than construct sentences of her own (She won't scathingly insult your new shoes, but she might squawk "SCROO YOU IN DA BUTT").
Although Heather was first shocked by it ... and then immediately showed her mettle as a serious-business Pokemon Trainer by trying to teach Wren as many naughty words as possible.
So while Wren probably isn't the only Murkrow out there causing trouble, she IS probably the only one who will steal your nose ring and then call you a "shitcanoe" as she flees.

No.468 Sunny: Togekiss, the Jubilee Pokemon

Sunny is what would happen if a mad scientist tried to create a creature crossed between a hang-glider and a giant happy marshmallow. Although Carousel and Claudy both have a motherly side to them, Sunny is the true Mama of the team (and, by extension, anyone who Heather remotely hangs out with). Sunny loves everybody. You are all her babies.
All of you.

-Species: Togekiss
-Type: Flying/Normal
-Obtained: Ecruteak City, inherited. (via Solid Snake)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 100
-Nature: Careful, strong-willed
-Ability: Serene Grace (The chances of a move having an effect doubles.)
-Moves: Fly*, Return*, Focus Punch*, Protect*, Solar Beam*, Psychic*, Heal Bell*, Extrasensory, Growl, Charm, Metronome, Sweet Kiss, Yawn, Encore, Follow Me, Wish, Ancientpower, Safeguard, Baton Pass, Double Edge, Last Resort
-Background: Originally, Sunny was the starter of a close friend, who left her to Heather when he departed from Johto. Deep down, Sunny still misses her original trainer, but operates under the philosophy that happiness is achieved through spreading as much love as possible, so that's what Sunny proceeded to do. She is particularly close to Cujo, who she remembers playing with as a Togepi back when they were just itty bitty baby level-5's.
Despite Sunny's cheerful, compliant demeanor, the truth is that she's not really under Heather's control at all, playing the part of a surrogate parent far more than a pet to be summoned and dismissed at will. After a certain incident last summer, Heather remains somewhat in the doghouse with Sunny, who has mostly forgiven her but has put a giant fluffy taloned foot down on Heather's flying privileges (unless she gets her father's permission first!). Which sort of sucks, because Sunny is the only large, flight-worthy Pokemon that Heather has. Whoops. But it's for her own good. Sunny knows best!
Otherwise, Sunny continues to mother everybody (a mindset she shares with Heather's other resident owl, Claudy, though the Noctowl is more selective about who she takes under her wing, while Sunny just straight-up loves the entire world), and although she is rarely used in battle (she is a remarkably pacifist Pokemon and prefers to dole out big soft Owl Hugs than fight), expertly trained and at level 100, she is secretly the strongest Pokemon in Heather's roster. Which means that anyone attempting to do genuine harm to her Trainer and/or team-mates are in for a very unpleasant surprise. This thing belonged to Solid Snake. She's been trained in CQC.
Be afraid.

No.94 Slightly: Gengar, the Shadow Pokemon

If anyone has ever gotten a vicious chatspeak text along the lines of "lol u shuld suk a dick :)" from Heather's 'Gear number, it was probably this guy.
-Species: Gengar
-Type: Ghost/Poison
-Obtained: Ecruteak City, inherited. (via L)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 100
-Nature: Naughty, frustratingly mischievous
-Ability: Levitate (Damage dealing Ground-type moves have no effect on this Pokémon. Cannot be trapped by Arena Trap ability. Takes no damage from Spikes.)
-Moves: Hypnosis, Lick, Spite, Mean Look, Curse, Night Shade, Confuse Ray, Sucker Punch, Shadow Punch, Payback, Shadow Ball, Dream Eater, Dark Pulse, Destiny Bond, Nightmare
-Background: Probably one of the more antagonistic members of Heather's team, Slightly was literally mailed to her IN A BOX from a departed friend. She's not sure whether she's happy to have a memento of the bizarre little detective or pissed off that he mailed her a ghost.
Slightly frequently fights with his new trainer, who he has no qualms about insulting via terrible chatspeak should he ever get hold of her PokeGear. Knock-down, drag-out fights between the two are relatively common, and fortunately never cause much lasting damage on account of Gengars seemingly being made of rubber, and ghost-punches not leaving actual bruises.
While he can't speak, he is the only member of Heather's team that seems to have a grasp on the written language, however tenuous and shaky that grasp is-- the team won't let him get away with much in the way of actual mischief, so he frequently turns to the PokeGear to get his kicks, posting wank fodder to online message boards ("lol dj mary sux"), rick-rolling, and generally being a pain in the ass.
Fortunately, Slightly's pretty harmless outside of bitching constantly and getting Heather blamed for all his online trolling. Wren is the only Pokemon on the team he actively gets along with, though (Cheryl is grudgingly accepted, but only when nobody else is watching, okay?).

No.107 Val Jr.: Hitmonchan, the Punching Pokemon

The Pokemon equivalent of Brock, OR Heather's creepy eyeless martial-arts-trained butler.
-Species: Hitmonchan
-Type: Fighting
-Obtained: Olivine City, gift/egg. Ecruteak City, hatched. (via Rise Kujikawa)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 70
-Nature: Naiive, good perseverance.
-Ability: Keen Eye (Prevents the Pokémon from losing accuracy.)
-Moves: Rock Smash*, Swift*, Tackle, Helping Hand, Fake Out, Foresight, Agility, Pursuit, Mach Punch, Bullet Punch, Feint, Vacuum Wave, Quick Guard, Thunderpunch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Sky Uppercut, Mega Punch, Focus Punch, Counter, Close Combat
-Background: Val's egg was a gift from Rise Kujikawa, whose friend Chie was looking for homes for her Hitmonlee's eggs. Not knowing what it would hatch into, Heather happily accepted the gift. ... And waited. ... And waited. ... And WAITED. For months, the egg did not hatch, although movement on the inside seemed to indicate that whatever was in there was certainly still alive and kicking. Finally, on one Halloween night, the egg chose to crack at last... revealing a bouncing baby Tyrogue, which coincidentally sort of resembles a deformed infant version of the good archangel of the Order and celestial midwife, Valtiel. Especially since if he had eyes, he sure as hell didn't show it because he never opens them.
Heather was horrified, and he was named Val Jr. for his resemblance to a mini version of her favorite guardian angel.
Like his namesake and despite her continuing unease around him, Val only ever had her best interests at heart, and from a young age resigned himself to looking out for his trainer from behind the scenes, waiting patiently for her to stop spazzing out and grabbing her heart every time she caught sight of him out of the corner of her eye.
His time to shine came a couple years later, when dozens of trainers and Pokemon were whisked away to an extradimensional dream castle and forced to fight their way out. Val Jr. was one of the Pokemon stolen from Heather, but while she was initially dismayed to find him in the already-nightmarish environment, he quickly proved his loyalty by evolving into Hitmonchan to help her fight off the monstrosities lurking in the corridors. Since then, Heather has realized how much she was judging him for something he had no connection with, and has devoted herself to training with him and trying to make him feel included in the team. His ongoing devotion to her had creeped her out at first, but now she sees it as yet another case of an incredibly good Pokemon that she didn't actually deserve. Regardless, he seems to harbor no bitterness over her treatment, and continues to help out as much as possible. If nothing else, his sheer dedication to training (and whatever other task Heather sets him to) alone makes him one of the most powerful Pokemon she's obtained. Especially with his incredible accuracy in battle.
His... incredible accuracy despite apparently not having eyes.
.... ????????
IT IS A MYSTERY.

No.195 Butch: Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokemon

Gregarious and friendly, Butch gets along with most, but can be a little overbearing when he doesn't get his way.
-Species: Quagsire
-Type: Water/Ground
-Obtained: Route 36, inherited. (via Phoenix Wright)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 70
-Nature: Jolly, sturdy body
-Ability: Water Absorb (Restores HP if hit by a Water-type move.)
-Moves: Water Gun, Tail Whip, Mud Sport, Mud Shot, Slam, Mud Bomb, Amnesia, Yawn, Earthquake, Rain Dance, Mist, Haze, Muddy Water
-Background: Having previously belonged to a friend, Heather encountered a miserable Butch making his way through the wilderness while she was on a trip back to Violet City.
Although it took some time to adjust, Butch enjoys a relaxing membership in the team. He's rarely called on to battle and instead likes to spend his days happily basking in the sun and generally being content. For quite some time, he made a habit of absconding with Heather's PokeGear so that he could chat with his sometimes-long-distance girlfriend, a Wooper named Flapper.
With Flapper gone, however, he channels his loneliness into more constructive hobbies, like trying to shove Heather under the mistletoe with people at Christmas parties.

No.595 Ygramul: Joltik, the Attaching Pokemon

Spider? SPIDER? SPIDER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-- nah, just kiddin. Mully, currently the tiniest member of Heather's party, is a serious little fellow who's full of curiosity and the urge to explore. Which is unfortunate, because to something his size, someone's sleeve can seem like an epic cave (possibly ending in treasure!!) and well. Yeah. That doesn't generally end well.
-Species: Joltik
-Type: Bug/Electric
-Obtained: Route 38, fateful encounter. Cianwood City, hatched.
-Gender: Male
-Level: 10
-Nature: Serious, highly curious
-Ability: Compoundeyes (Raises the Pokémon’s accuracy by 30%. )
-Moves: String Shot, Leech Life, Spider Web, Thunder Wave, Screech, Fury Cutter, Electro Web, Bug Bite, Gastro Acid, Slash, Electro Ball, Signal Beam, Agility, Sucker Punch, Discharge, Bug Buzz
-Background: Heather received Mully's egg during a very rough patch in her life in Johto, and reacted so badly to the ill-timed gift that she almost crushed the tiny egg on live camera and had to spend a good day or so wrestling with her own humanity and the choice of whether or not to do it. Heavy shit.
Fortunately, she decided to let the egg hatch instead, and the arrival of the bouncing baby spider was a big part of what pulled her out of that dark place. Completely unaware that his existence might have ended before he'd even gotten a chance to hatch, Mully was named 'Ygramul' after the shapeshifting spider monster in The Neverending Story. His unpleasant namesake didn't have any effect on his personality, which can be described as earnest and serious. He lives for the pursuit of knowledge, which is a serious undertaking when it takes you five minutes to read a single page. While fairly well-grounded, he occasionally pays too much attention to the little details (given his size, who can blame him?) and gets suspicious that things might be bigger than they seem. He probably should have been named after Fox Mulder instead. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.
As for Heather, for something she almost contemplated smashing, she sure loves the little guy. He frequently rides around inside her vest, like the world's most epic anti-grope device (seriously, she almost wants someone to try it-- "Hey, baby--*bzzt* AAAAAAGHGH"). That said, his small size makes her worry about him quite a bit, and everyone in her travel party has probably been subject to the occasional "Ohmygod, WHERE'S MULLY? HENRY DID YOU SIT ON HIM?!" only for him to wind up having been exploring the hotel room's potted plant or napping in a box of Kleenex or something.

No.53 Cleo: Persian, the Classy Cat Pokemon

Only a cat person could love this lioness-sized bully.
-Species: Persian
-Type: Normal
-Obtained: Cianwood City, inherited. (via Vincent Smith)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 40
-Nature: Naughty, thoroughly cunning
-Ability: Limber (The Pokémon cannot be under the PARALYZE condition while having this ability.)
-Moves: Scratch, Growl, Bite, Fake Out, Fury Swipes, Screech, Feint Attack, Taunt, Pay Day, Power Gem, Slash, Nasty Plot, Assurance, Captivate, Night Slash, Feint
-Background: Of the two Pokemon Heather inherited from her old cultist buddy Vincent, Cleo is by far the more unpleasant of them. Remaining merely aloof when Heather is around to watch, the moment her trainer's back is turned, Cleo becomes a cruel, sadistic and manipulative bully. Clearly, her time spent in Team Rocket rubbed off on her far too much.
She is disliked by most of Heather's other Pokemon, particularly because she keeps trying to eat Wren and Mully. Wren finds this absolutely hilarious and frequently goes out of her way to provoke the big cat, but Mully is in far greater danger due to his tiny size and the fact that he is easily missed. Fortunately, he's usually smart enough to keep out of harm's way, and has plenty of larger team-mates ready to come to his rescue should he end up in Cleo's claws.

No.229 Vickie + Huan: Houndoom, the Dark Pokemon

B-B-B-B-BAD TO THA BONE. Until someone pulls out a bag of actual milkbones. Then it's like they've never even heard the word 'hellhound'.
-Species: Houndoom
-Type: Dark/Fire
-Obtained: Cianwood City, inherited. (via Vincent Smith and Liquid Snake)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 60 and 100, respectively.
-Nature: Calm, good perseverance (Vickie). Adamant, proud of its power (Huan).
-Ability: Vickie, Early Bird (SLEEP conditions lasts for half as long, rounding down. For example, half of three turns is 1.5, which rounds down to one turn. When the number of turns to sleep is one, half of this rounded down is zero, and the Pokémon wakes up instantly.) Huan, Flash Fire (Powers up Fire-type moves if hit by a fire move.)
-Moves: Ember, Howl, Smog, Roar, Bite, Odor Sleuth, Beat Up, Fire Fang, Feint Attack, Embargo, Foul Play, Flamethrower, Crunch, Nasty Plot, Inferno
-Background: Originally named Valtiel, Vickie was the starter of one of Heather's super awesome buddies from home, left in her care when they disappeared from Johto. Heather immediately renamed him due to already having a member of her team named after the good Archangel. But despite his villainous origins, Vickie is a calm and well-trained dog, interested mainly in doing what he's told and obeying his trainer. Despite being part of Team Rocket, Vickie has no inherent urge to do wrong, he just decided not to question the decisions of his trainer much (if at all). Since Heather was who his old trainer intended him to go to, he is obedient to her and eager to please. But sadly, on account of him being a HUGE ASS DEMON DOG WHO USED TO BELONG TO A CULT MEMBER, Heather is still rather wary of him. She's used to cute shaggy Growlithes, not big demonic hell-dobermans.
Speaking of big demonic hell-dobermans, her second Houndoom acquisition, the starter of her old friend Liquid, is bigger, more demonic, and an absolute hellspawn. Arrogant and bossy, Huan likes to think he runs the joint and quickly appointed himself the alpha of the pair. He's not inherently evil, either-- just a big lunk with delusions of grandeur. Vickie tolerates his shenanigans and puts up with being considered 'second best'.

No.310 Tricia: Manectric, the Discharge Pokemon

Because this team needed at least ONE canine that was both socially well-adjusted and didn't scare the pants off Heather.
-Species: Manectric
-Type: Electric
-Obtained: Saffron City, inherited. (via Dale Cooper)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 100
-Nature: Rash, alert to sounds
-Ability: Lightningrod (Electric-type moves are drawn to this Pokémon. Electric-type moves will do no damage and the Pokémon's SP ATK is raised one stage.)
-Moves: Swagger*, Flash*, Iron Tail*, Tackle, Thunder Wave, Leer, Howl, Quick Attack, Spark, Odor Sleuth, Bite, Thunder Fang, Roar, Discharge, Charge, Wild Charge, Thunder
-Background: Heather received Tricia when her original trainer went home-- a turning point that marked another negative shift in behavior. Heather had already known Tricia for quite some time and grown familiar with her, so fortunately she wasn't wary or afraid of her the same way she was with some of the other inherited Pokemon she received.
Although confused and saddened with the sudden disappearance of her trainer and the bizarre, unhappy behavior displayed by her new one, Tricia has a naturally-upbeat personality and quickly bounced back to her usual self. She's energetic, playful, and cocky-- quick to judge and quick to grow impatient, she's one to urge others to take the plunge, although she's fine with doing it herself if it comes to it. She likes to think she knows all the answers and is quick to chip in with advice, whether it's asked for or not.
Her previous trainer took care to train her very well, so despite her high level and boundless energy she is obedient and enjoys earning her keep, even to a trainer bearing as few gym badges as Heather. Of course, Heather also has a much more lax, laissez-faire training style so inevitably, some of those ingrained good manners have gone out the window over time. Thanks to an abundance of freely-shared table scraps, Tricia is now somewhat prone to begging. She still has excellent recall, though!

No.37 Warden: Vulpix, the Fox Pokemon

She's not saying you're going to Hell, buuuut... you're going to Hell.
-Species: Vulpix
-Type: Fire
-Obtained: Ecruteak, inherited. (via Claudia Wolf)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 30
-Nature: Modest, strong-willed
-Ability: Flash Fire (Powers up Fire-type moves if hit by a fire move.)
-Moves: Ember, Tail Whip, Roar, Quick Attack, Will-O-Wisp, Fire Spin, Confuse Ray, Imprison, Feint Attack, Hex, Payback, Flamethrower, Safeguard, Extrasensory, Fire Blast, Grudge, Captivate, Inferno
-Background: Warden's story is a sensitive one, and not one that Heather tends to like discussing with other trainers. Warden was the starter Pokemon of Claudia Wolf, Heather's friend-turned-enemy and the woman who killed her father. Claudia's arrival in Johto was difficult to deal with for all kinds of reasons, a big one being that while she was no longer a real threat to Heather or her family, the two inevitably confronted touchy issues from their pasts. Although a shaky peace persisted for awhile, eventually the situation exploded and led Heather on the warpath, throwing all loyalties and cautions out the window as she set out to kill Claudia.
Funny thing about watching someone try to murder your trainer-- you don't like them much after that.
Warden came into Heather's possession when Claudia left Johto (presumably for good), and while the Vulpix is not the sort to seek vengeance, she looks on Heather and her Pokemon with utter disdain. Having played a 'grounding' role for Claudia in terms of getting her to come back down to earth when she got too religious-tirade-y, Warden is fully aware that her original trainer had problems, but Heather's violence and insolence just isn't something she can condone.
She remains somewhat at odds with Heather's Pokemon, despite attempts to reach out made by some (namely Cheryl and Sunny-- they are the only two that Warden willingly consorts with, although she is still stiff and cold even with them). For her part, Heather does her best to take care of Warden and make her comfortable, but largely avoids interacting with her out of awkwardness and guilt.

No.543 Slendy: Venipede, the Centipede Pokemon

NO WIFI IN THE CLUB, GIMME TWENTY DOLLAS
-Species: Venipede
-Type: Bug/Poison
-Obtained: Ecruteak City, fateful encounter.
-Gender: Male
-Level: 11
-Nature: Impish, often naps
-Ability: Swarm (When HP is below 1/3rd, Bug’s power increases to 1.5 times.)
-Moves: Defense Curl, Rollout, Poison Sting, Screech Pursuit, Protect, Poison Tail, Bug Bite, Venoshock, Steamroller, Agility, Toxic, Venoshock, Rock Climb, Double-Edge
-Background: Heather received Slendy as a Christmas egg and didn't realize he'd hatched shiny until she eventually saw a normally-colored Venipede belonging to someone else.
Thus far, his personality has mainly been centered around deadpan looks, sleeping and eating. It was his tendency to nap in unexpected places and unwittingly scare the crap out of whoever stumbled across him that led to his nickname.
This wouldn't be all too remarkable, but he seems to kind of enjoy the reactions...

No.633 Blue Rose: Deino, the Irate Pokemon

A tiny bundle of sweetness who finds her way around by viciously biting things.
-Species: Deino
-Type: Dark/Dragon
-Obtained: Goldenrod City, inherited. (via Nero)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 30
-Nature: Quiet, often lost in thought
-Ability: Hustle (Damage from physical attacks is 1.5 times, but average accuracy is only 80%.)
-Moves: Tackle, Dragon Rage, Focus Energy, Bite, Headbutt, Dragonbreath, Roar, Crunch, Slam, Dragon Pulse, Work Up, Dragon Rush, Body Slam, Scary Face, Hyper Voice, Outrage
-Background: Blue is generally a sweetheart. Unfortunately, given that the only way of exploring the world she has is to bite things, she doesn't have too many friends, even among Heather's team. The one who seems to have bonded with her the most is Mully, who frequently rides her and acts as her eyes.

No.360/202 Moe+Curly: the Bright/Patient Pokemon

An inherited trouble-making duo. Heather named them after the three stooges for a reason.
-Species: Wynaut / Wobbuffet
-Type: Psychic
-Obtained: Mahogany Town, inherited. (via Larry Butz)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 60 and 100
-Nature: Quirky, somewhat of a clown (Moe). Quirky, impetuous and silly (Curly).
-Ability: Shadow Tag (The opponent cannot run nor switch while this Pokémon is in play.)
-Moves: Splash, Charm, Encore, Counter, Mirror Coat, Safeguard, Destiny Bond.
-Background: Inherited from a departed friend, this duo doesn't see battle very often. Instead they spend their time goofing off and pulling pranks on the rest of the team. This goes over better with some than others. They like to think that they're hot stuff, but... well, as mentioned above, Heather nicknamed them after the three stooges for a reason. They get along best with Butch (who belonged to a friend of their original trainer) and Slightly, who is delighted to have two 'henchmen' so willing to help him with his mischief, even Curly seems to think that he's the mastermind behind every scheme.

No.198 Calima the Shimmer: Murkrow, the Dark Pokemon

Public Enemy numero dos, or Wren's Partner in Crime.
-Species: Murkrow
-Type: Dark/Flying
-Obtained: Mahogany Town, inherited. (via Crow Hogan)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 100
-Nature: Jolly, highly curious
-Ability: Super Luck (Heightens the critical-hit ratios of moves.)
-Moves: Dark Pulse*, Fly*, Roost, Aerial Ace, Protect, Psychic, Pluck, Attract, Peck, Astonish, Pursuit, Haze, Wing Attack, Night Shade, Assurance, Taunt, Faint Attack, Mean Look, Foul Play, Tailwind, Sucker Punch, Torment, Quash
-Background: Bright in both plumage and personality, Calima is a permanently cheerful, energetic and fun-loving Murkrow. She also possesses great fondness of ADVENTURE!! of any kind, so whether you want to try surfing on a wild Sharpeedo's back, examine the puzzles in the deepest chambers of Ruins of Alph, or simply try your hand at hot-dog eating contest, she's your bird. Like any other self-respecting representant of her species, Calima loves any and all shiny objects and never misses a chance to acquire a new item for her collection. Her favorite possession is a checkered red ribbon that she wears on her tail, having stolen it from one of the New Year celebrations.
Heather inherited her from her close friend Crow, although even having Adorable Thief Corvid numero dos around did little to soothe the ache of the loss. Still, Calima is practically peas in the pod with Wren, and the pair are now rarely seen apart. Strength and versatility-wise, Calima is far more powerful than Wren, who for all sakes and purposes is an average street-bred Murkrow without any egg moves. Wren is the more cunning of the two, however, so it works out.

No.18 Hurricane: Pidgeot, the Bird Pokemon

Fool him once, shame on you. Fool him twice, uh... shame on you again.
-Species: Pidgeot
-Type: Normal/Flying
-Obtained: Mahogany Town, inherited. (via Crow Hogan)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 100
-Nature: Impish, highly curious
-Ability: Tangled Feet (Pokémon’s evasion raises one level when Confused.)
-Moves: *Sky Attack, *Heat Wave, Fly, Pluck, Aerial Ace, Roost, Protect, Tackle, Sand Attack, Gust, Quick Attack, Whirlwind, Twister, Feather Dance, Agility, Wing Attack, Tailwind, Mirror Move, Air Slash, Hurricane
-Background: Another Pokemon inherited with Crow, Hurricane actually had a history with Heather before she obtained him.
During the debacle involving Claudia Wolf, Heather was desperate to get to her ex-friend as soon as possible. At the time, however, her only flight-worthy Pokemon was Sunny, a Togekiss-- who refused to fly her to what would surely be a bloodbath, since Togekiss will not travel to anywhere with strife. Left with no other options, Heather stole Hurricane in the heat of the moment and flew him to Claudia, his good-hearted gullibility the only thing that let her get away with commanding someone else's Pokemon.
Not surprisingly, Hurricane got in enormous trouble for his compliance, and stayed far away from Heather for quite some time after the incident.
Eventually, when things between Heather and his trainer were patched up, he too showed her his forgiveness by granting her one of his long, impressive feathers.
Now that he actually belongs to her, there is little awkwardness between them-- particularly since Heather hasn't made a habit of going on any more death rampages. Hurricane is good-natured and laid-back (though he loves to be the center of attention), and gets along especially well with the younger members of the team.

No.25 Hazel: Pikachu, the Mouse Pokemon

Uh oh, there's a NEW cameramon in town.
-Species: Pikachu
-Type: Electric
-Obtained: Mahogany Town, inherited. (via Harry Mason)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 61
-Nature: Brave, highly curious
-Ability: Static (The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with PARALYZE when using an attack, that requires physical contact, against this Pokémon. )
-Moves: Tail Whip, Thundershock, Growl, Thunder Wave, Quick Attack, Electro Ball, Double Team, Slam, Thunderbolt, Feint, Agility, Discharge, Light Screen, Thunder
-Background: When Heather's father disappeared from Johto for the second time, Heather got to keep several of his Pokemon. One of them is Hazel, who she helped Harry name when she hatched as a little Pichu. Like any true family of nerds, the reference is literary-- after Hazel, the protagonist of Watership Down, a story that Harry read to Heather frequently as a child.
Hazel is a curious one, always exploring. She enjoys tinkering with gadgets, and the PokeGear happens to be the most convenient, easily-available one. Her Electric typing could potentially be a hazard when it comes to accidentally overloading devices with power surges, but she's grown to be very sensitive to her own strength and her electricity seems to enhance her tech-wiz status rather than impede it.
While she misses her original trainer dearly, she's grateful to not be among strangers. She was already friends with most of Heather's Pokemon, especially Mully and Blue.
She's almost never seen without a chunk of Eviolite worn on a cord around her neck.

No.636 Carrie: Larvesta, the Torch Pokemon

It's hard to hide when you sparkle.
-Species: Larvesta
-Type: Bug/Fire
-Obtained: Mahogany Town, inherited. (via Harry Mason)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 23
-Nature: Timid, alert to sounds
-Ability: Swarm (When HP is below 1/3rd, Bug’s power increases to 1.5 times. )
-Moves: Ember, String Shot, Leech Life, Take Down, Flame Charge, Bug Bite, Double-edge, Flame Wheel, Bug Buzz, Amnesia, Flash, Flare Blitz
-Background: Carrie is the other Pokemon that Heather inherited from her father. Named for the famous Stephen King character (turns out the apple didn't fall far from the tree on the naming front), Carrie was one of a trio of shiny insect Pokemon to hatch from a set of eggs given to the Masons (honorary one included) for Christmas 2012 (the other two being Heather's Slendy and Henry's Alien Baby. No, really, that's what he named his shiny Venonat).
Carrie spends a lot of time with Slendy, hiding under beds and in dark nooks, but unlike the Venipede (who is simply lazy and carefree), she does it mostly out of shyness. Carrie is basically like your friend's cat who you catch a glimpse of sometimes but mostly is nowhere to be found whenever you come over. Occasionally she can be tempted out with a dish of sugar-water (assuming Honey doesn't get to it first, anyway), but otherwise it's a toss-up whether you'll spot her or not. On the other hand, she makes a lovely night-light.

No.667 Scarlet: Litleo, the Lion Cub Pokemon

What TIIIIIIIIIIME is it? AAAAAAAAAADVENTURE TI-- oh no wait, it's bedtime. BOOOO.
-Species: Litleo
-Type: Fire
-Obtained: Trade. (via Tobias)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 5
-Nature: Jolly, likes to run
-Ability: Rivalry ( Attack & Special Attack is increased by 25% if the foe is of the same gender; Attack & Special Attack is decreased by 25% if the foe is of the opposite gender.)
-Moves: Tackle, Leer, Ember, Work Up, Headbutt, Noble Roar, Take Down, Fire Fang, Endeavor, Echoed Voice, Flamethrower, Crunch, Hyper Voice, Incinerate, Overheat
-Background: Not even Heather was immune to the excitement that exploded across Johto when swarms of never-before-seen Pokemon started popping up all around the country. And literally nobody is immune to the cuteness of lion cubs. ... Well, the exception would be Tobias, who gladly traded Heather one of the several he'd caught unwittingly, just to get rid of them. Whatever, guy must have his reasons.
While anyone asking would probably get a joking answer from Heather regarding The Lion King, Scarlet was actually, like many of Heather's other Pokemon, named for a faint memory of the past. 'Scarlet' was the name of one of the few dolls Alessa Gillespie had to find comfort in before the event that 'took' her life at age seven. Of course, the Litleo is quite a bit more lively than her namesake.
Full of energy and bearing an enormous appetite for FUN, Scarlet is a happy-go-lucky little cub who thinks everyone in the world is her playmate. Unsurprisingly, she became instant pals with Cujo. Somewhat more surprisingly, she also latched onto Cleo and apparently thinks the Persian is her long lost big sister. Cleo is thrilled. And by thrilled I mean not thrilled at all.
Things Scarlet likes include bright colors, buttons, chasing her tail, and blatantly flirting with every single male Pokemon she meets, which is not particularly effective considering her strategy is usually the HI I'M SCARLET I'M LEVEL 5 AND I ATE A WHOLE PIZZA ONCE, LET'S GET MARRIED!!!

No.661 Kite: Fletchling, the Tiny Robin Pokemon

She preens for Satan.
-Species: Fletchling
-Type: Normal/Flying
-Obtained: Cherrygrove City, wild-caught
-Gender: Female
-Level: 14
-Nature: Adamant, strong-willed
-Ability: Big Pecks (Its defense cannot be lowered.)
-Moves: Tackle, Growl, Quick Attack, Peck, Agility, Flail, Roost, Razor Wind, Natural Gift, Flame Charge, Acrobatics, Me First, Tailwind, Steel Wing
-Background: After getting her hands on ONE brand new Pokemon, Heather got a little swept up in Poke-Fever. Hopping on board Hurricane, she took off for a couple of days on a wild goose chase around Johto, hoping to snap up a few more. She was honestly a little rusty after so long (most of her Pokemon ended up being hand-me-downs, all but eliminating the need to go out and catch wild ones of her own), but after a few close calls, she managed to capture this feisty little bird, which she named Kite.
Kite is certainly an odd one. Unlike most birds, she doesn't do a whole lot of talking. Or emoting, for that matter. She's very stoic.
Who knows what might be going on in that little black-eyed head?

cross her and she will b a t h e i n y o u r b l o o d

No.653 Gillespie: Fennekin, the Fox Pokemon

God dammit, Mully, NOT EVERYTHING IS A UFO.
-Species: Fennekin
-Type: Fire
-Obtained: Ecruteak City, wild-caught
-Gender: Female
-Level: 7
-Nature: Careful, somewhat stubborn
-Ability: Blaze (When HP is below 1/3rd its maximum, power of Fire-type moves is increased by 50%.)
-Moves: Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember, Howl, Flame Charge, Psybeam, Fire Spin, Lucky Chant, Light Screen, Psyshock, Flamethrower, Will-O-Wisp, Psychic, Sunny Day, Magic Room, Fire Blast
-Background: The last of the September Swarm Pokemon that Heather obtained, Gillespie (or "Gilly", as she prefers to be called), is a serious and down-to-earth Pokemon, even for a baby. A skeptic at heart, she remains unimpressed by most things that would otherwise delight young Pokemon. Toys are snubbed, the 'I'm gonna pretend to throw the ball but not actually throw it' trick gets nothing but stares of dull derision. If there's a sense of humor in there somewhere, it's a dry and haughty one.
The biggest target of her exasperation is Mully, whose enthusiasm for the spookier things just drives her nuts. Ugh, so immature!

No.545 Mukade: Scolipede, the Megapede Pokemon

Scolipede? More like sociopath.
-Species: Scolipede
-Type: Bug/Poison
-Obtained: Inherited. (via Misaki Asou)
-Gender: Female
-Level: 100
-Nature: Rash, quick-tempered
-Ability: Poison Point (The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with POISON when using an attack, that requires physical contact, against this Pokémon.)
-Moves: Defense Curl, Rollout, Poison Sting, Screech, Pursuit, Protect, Poison Tail, Bug Bite, Venoshock, Baton Pass, Rock Smash, Agility, Steamroller, Toxic, Rock Climb, Double Edge
-Background: Even before Mukade came onto Heather's team, she was no peach. Determined to become the strongest Pokemon on her previous team, she pretty much just didn't like anybody, even her then-trainer. The antisocial aspect would be one thing if it wasn't coupled with violence.
Prior to receiving Mukade, Heather only met her once. And on that occasion, Mukade straight-up tried to murder Heather.
Brutally.
In public.
Heather does not take this Pokemon out of the box.
EVER.

No.130 Dennis: Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokemon

He's baaaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaack.
-Species: Gyarados
-Type: Flying/Water
-Obtained: Hatched/Inherited. (via Jack Skellington)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 48
-Nature: Calm, alert to sounds
-Ability: Intimidate (Upon entering battle, the opponent’s Attack lowers one stage.)
-Moves: Thrash, Bite, Dragon Rage, Leer, Twister, Aqua Tail, Rain Dance, Ice Fang, Hydro Pump, Dragon Dance, Hyper Beam
-Background: Way back in Heather's very first months in Johto, she hatched a wall-eyed Magikarp out of an egg she found floating in the floodwaters and was convinced it was possessed due to the fact that it always seemed to be watching her with one eye. Eager to get rid of it, she had no qualms about passing it over to the loving care of Jack Skellington when he expressed interest in it. It was named Dennis and later evolved into Gyarados in the middle of Union Cave. He likes to put things in his mouth--like people. His eyes still don't point in the same direction and this throws off his accuracy. But when he hits, he hits hard.
For years, Heather barely even thought about Dennis. But then when Jack disappeared from Johto after a good long run in the world of Pokemon, a mysterious Pokeball accompanied his parting letter to her.
Heather may not have thought about Dennis much... but he remembers her.
OH YES.
HE REMEMBERS HER.

No.262 Supreme Court

Presenting the Supreme Court Sled Team: Jay, Wilson, Cushing, Blair, Rutledge, and Iredell! Alternate title: Heather has 99 Problems and All of Them Are Dogs.
-Species: Mightyena
-Type: Dark
-Obtained: Mahogany Town, inherited. (via Sheriff Harry Truman)
-Gender: Male
-Level: 42-52
-Nature: She can't even keep track. Don't ask her to.
-Ability: Run Away (Enables sure getaway from wild Pokémon.)
-Moves: Leer, Fire Fang, Howl, Bite, Roar, Embargo, Sand-attack, Tackle, Odor Sleuth, Swagger, Scary Face, Take Down, Thief
-Background: Heather's worst nightmare came true when she was unexpectedly the inheritor of an entire sled team of shaggy sinister-looking dogs named after famous Supreme Court cases-- bringing Heather's total number of canine Pokemon up to an unlucky thirteen.
Fortunately, they're all friendly and generally well-behaved.
If nothing else, they sure will make it easier to transport the gang's ever-growing hoard of supplies and personal belongings during the winter...

PREVIOUSLY-OWNED POKEMON

Heather caught this thing during a Swarm of them, and kind of regretted it because it, like that wall-eyed fish, Kind of Gave Her the Wig (tm). She later traded it to Demyx in return for a Totodile egg. Demyx has since disappeared and it's unknown what happened to the Drifloon.

Unlike the other Pokemon, Heather was not creeped out by this Stantler in the slightest. She hatched him from an egg and adored him, because seriously, who couldn't love a baby deer? However, baby deer don't tend to do well on teams full of carnivores who are constantly eyeing them, and he was kind of getting into everything, so Heather wasn't really too sure her team would be the best place for him. So she sent him to Mary Shepherd-Sunderland, who named him Bambi and spoiled him rotten until she disappeared from Johto. Bambi is likely a wild Pokemon now.

Like the Magikarp, Heather hatched this Poliwag from an egg fairly early-on in her journey. However, it never really saw much action and frankly Heather never really liked it. The way it waddled around gave her some uncomfortably-familiar vibes to those freaky Numb Bodies, and it, like the Stantler, was always being eyed by the more predatory members of her team.
Later in Goldenrod City, Heather saw an opportunity to pass it on to a better owner and challenged Sora that if he could eat an entire plate of spaghetti (no seriously you did not see this plate, it was huge), he could have the Poliwag.
Sora christened it Douglas in honor of Heather's friend back home and gave it a fedora and a majestic paper beard. When Sora later disappeared from Johto, Doug (by then having evolved into a Poliwhirl) retired to the wild. He now lives in a hollow tree in Ilex Forest and works as a private detective, investigating wild Pokemon crimes in the forest!

Heather received Álvaro the Cubone when Angela Orosco, a mysterious young woman hailing from Heather's own world, disappeared from Johto. The sensitive young Cubone was often hard to care for and Heather did so with only marginal success on account of not being very... motherly. But fortunately, Angela eventually reappeared, and the two were all too eager to reunite the Pokemon with its original trainer.

What do you get when two owls love each other very much?
PILES OF BABY OWLS.
Without either of them knowing it (they are the best trainers), Heather's Noctowl Claudy wound up breeding with Henry Townshend's Hoothoot, Walter (ironically also named after a certain villainous cult member). Needless to say, after discovering that their number of owls had tripled (or more), Harry Mason urged the two to be responsible and find homes for all the babies, which they fortunately did! The babies were sold (or given, in some cases) to the loving care of Rise Kujikawa, who received no choice in the matter (a basketball-sized baby named Fukuro, after her mother's odd love of bags.), Angela Orosco, Minnie Mouse (Scrooge), Bakura Ryou (Athena), Miyako Inoue, Mytho (Owl), Yuuri Shibuya, and Jango (Party), as well as several native Olivine residents who took pity on the poor young people going door to door with these things and decided to take one or two off their hands.
... And, of course, the one she gave to her father.
Which was, of course, named Dahlia after the fact that it spun like a gyromancer (and... yes... after yet another villainous cultist. Silent Hill protagonists are extremely mature and don't hold grudges at all, didn't you know?)

In addition to Sunny, when Old Snake left Johto, he also left behind his Torkoal, Marlboro, to Heather's care. Because she already had two Fire types while her bro Henry Townshend was sadly lacking, she gave Marlboro to him as a gift.

After following Cujo into the historical Burned Tower just outside of Ecruteak City, Heather stepped on a rotten patch of floor and took a tumble into the basement, accidentally waking up this grouchy beast.
In order to escape getting toasted, Heather caught him. After a brief (like, five-minute) period of angsting about owning yet another Fire-type, it occurred to her that this Pokemon would make the perfect Christmas present to Douglas Cartland, who, being an old man, could probably use a living heater in the middle of winter.
She named the Magmar Kal-El and mailed him off to her old friend the very next day.

When Heather's close friend Kaito Kuroba left Johto, he left her with his starter Pokemon, an Aipom named Biz, as well as her Quagsire's beloved girlfriend, a Wooper named Flapper. She took care of both Pokemon until Kaito returned later on, at which time they went back to him.

One of the first friends Heather made in Johto was a man named Otacon, who (along with his compatriots from his own world) became Heather's surrogate family for quite some time. His starter, a Mareep-turned-Ampharos named Asimov was left to her when, after many years and a sadly deteriorated relationship with both Heather and his homeworld friends, he went home. Asimov spent a relatively brief period of time with Heather before Solid Snake returned to Johto after a long absence. Heather gave Asimov to him so that he could hang onto a memory of his best friend.

After a brief and tempestuous student-teacher relationship with an assassin named Jeane, Heather was left with a sinister Toxicroak named Norman. When Heather, Norman, and several of Heather's other Pokemon were whisked to a spirit realm during one unpleasant October, Heather failed to retrieve Norman before the time limit was up. Who knows where he is now. Probably partying with ghosts.

During September of 2014, hordes of never-before-seen Pokemon swarmed through Johto. Eager to get in on the action, the in-Olivine-at-the-time Heather ran straight down to the beach and caught the first unfamiliar thing she saw: a Clauncher.
It was then that she realized that she really did not want or need a lobster on her team, so for lack of anything else to do with it, she promptly traded it to Tobias for one of his several unwanted Litleos.

In the wake of the earthquakes that rocked Johto and Kanto alike, Heather managed to lose track of three of her newest Pokemon, the Gen 6 fire babies. She left immediately to hunt them down and wound up getting stuck in the middle of a giant all-out war between Teams Aqua and Magma, which ended in mass property destruction and also Pokemon Jesus making it rain adorable fairy-foxes down from the sky. Why? Don't ask Heather, she doesn't even fuckin' ask anymore.
But even though she was dog tired from the entire rescue mission gone awry, she caught one of the strange new Pokemon as an apology present for Henry Townshend for leaving so abruptly and not contacting him at all. The Sylveon is now named Prince and is probably the prettiest thing in the house.
