Well, it wasn't that bad.

Okay, so, there was this scientist who was trying to figure out how the mind works. His name was Pavlov.

Anyway, as one of his experiments, he got a dog and started ringing a bell right before he fed it every day. After awhile, the dog started drooling every time it heard that bell ring. Because it associated it with getting food, see?
