GILLESPIE | BRAIXEN (No. 654) Type: Fire Ability: Blaze (When HP is below 1/3rd its maximum, power of Fire-type moves is increased by 50%.)
The second of the 2014 September Swarm Pokemon that Heather obtained, Gillespie (or "Gilly", as she prefers to be called), was a serious and down-to-earth Pokemon, even for a baby. A skeptic at heart, she remains unimpressed by most things that would otherwise delight young Pokemon. Toys are snubbed, the 'I'm gonna pretend to throw the ball but not actually throw it' trick gets nothing but stares of dull derision, and don't even think about asking her if she's a good girl.
While she isn't catty or mean, Gillespie is a bit of a snoot. She likes to think she's very serious and grown-up and sophisticated, and as such she gets easily embarrassed when her team-mates act silly in her immediate proximity (being around Scarlet practically makes her break out in hives). In her own social circle, the biggest target of her exasperation is Mully, whose enthusiasm for the spookier things just drives her nuts. Ugh, so immature! And yet, after Blue, she's often the first one to step in and back the little spider up in a sticky situation.
Though not particularly interested in battling, she is dedicated to honing her skills in magicthe psychic arts, everyone knows magic isn't real, MULLY.
So, she buckled down and focused on leveling up enough to evolve into Braixen-- you can wield a wand much more efficiently when you have thumbs. Now all that's left is to best-behavior her way into being the recipient of one of those Hidden Ability Candies and make the "Magician" status official (shut up, Mully).
