I can see POLLUTION over the treetops which means I've gotta be getting close-- hope I didn't pass you yet.

_{[That overcast gray sky overhead is somehow oppressive, even on the video feed. Yet, Heather looks cheerful. Maybe she doesn't notice it-- it IS rather... tame on the surface in comparison to the ghastly fog that had come rolling in on silent feet before the hallucinations had set in about a month ago... Not to mention this weird overcast state is more or less the norm a lot of the time where Heather comes from. Or maybe it's just that she's happy to be on the road again-- it's the first time she's made a transmission of her own since leaving Azalea. Not to mention now that Minnie's safe, the trip has a bit less urgency to it.]}

Man, I don't know about anybody else, but I'm sure glad that frosty air is gone...

Anyway, uh-- guys, I had a question.

What kinds of Pokemon are around here? Hal caught one of those... teleporting bald fox things, but I haven't seen much of anything else. _{Except for the bugs in my sleeping bag at night...} _{[THANKS SNAKE YOU REALLY HELPED HER SLEEP SOUNDLY.]}

It's kinda been awhile since I've caught anything, and while I am gonna be getting the rest of my guys back soon, Cooj is getting uh... sorta tired.

_{[... Not that it, you know, showed. He was still romping merrily in and out of the frame as Heather walked. But it was true enough, now that she was going ahead by herself and the Growlithe had to do all the battling on his own, the traveling without aid of Pokemon Center was making him a little less enthusiastic about chasing things off.]}

I don't even think I have any Pokeballs, but ... any recommendations?

C'mon, tents aren't that hard to pitch! [Though Kaito has certainly had his fair share of vs. THE TENT fights on his camping trips at home]

[grin widens, and he shrugs her bag off of his shoulder and hands it to her]

_{[HUGE BEAM as she takes the pack. She... literally NEVER thought she'd see it or its contents again (well, until he'd told her he had it, anyway).]}

Right, right. Jewels. _{[She grins back-- then blinks, brows popping up in surprise.]} The egg! _{[She'd almost forgotten. Tugging the pack open, she reached in to lift it out. ... Yeah, it was 'verge-of-hatching' all right... b-but why hadn't it hatched yet???]

[As if to answer this question, the egg rumbleS slightly, as though displeased that it had been taken out of the bag.]

[WHAT IS THIS COLD DRAFT. PUT ME BACK IN THE WARMTH IMMEDIATELY, ROAR.]}

Maybe it'll hatch now! [BECAUSE WHY NOT?]

I-- maybe! It... it seems kinda MAD.

_{[Eggs were not supposed to make noises like disgruntled puppies.]}

... I wonder if it's-- AH! HEY!

_{[A blunt little blue snout had suddenly poked through the shell to nip at her fingers. She yelped and then proceeded to juggle the egg precariously from hand to hand, trying to catch it again.]}

Er... maybe it's mad you didn't-- oi!

[THAT LOOKS LIKE A POKEMON NOSE]

It's hatching!

_{[Finally she has the sense to just... gently put it down on the ground. ... Where it sits. Stubbornly NOT hatching, as though it just wants to be difficult.]}

.... Man, I think that Demyx guy was lying to me. He said he was giving me the 'blue lizard' egg, not the 'indecisive guy with anger management issues' egg.

[bending down to peeeer at it]

Maybe it's an indecisive angry blue lizard with anger management issues.

Yeah... that could be it...

_{[She reaches out to gently nudge it with one toe. The egg reacts by tipping briefly towards her foot and making a threatening sound. It then swivels gently in Kaito's direction, all "WHAT. YOU WANNA GO?"]}

... It's bitey.

[... well then. He'll just. Stare]

... is that what you're gonna name it?

_{[She pauses, thoughtfully.]}

_{[She turns to look at Kaito, grinning.]}

_{[As they discussed this, the egg gave an aggravated shudder, not unlike something having to listen to an unpleasant grating noise, and then two big clawy, webbed feet popped through the shell with a crackle. It tried to roll onto them.]

Oi, I like bitey-- hey! It's leaving!

Pffff, Godzilla is so much better than Bitey-- Ack!

_{[She reached down and made a grab for it, only for the egg to teeter over and go rolling off down the path, which as it turned out, was apparently just slightly downhill.]}

[I smell shenanigans! Either way, he goes after her and the egg, watching her grab for it and miss as it continues to roll away]
