well for one thing you can't sleep and carry giant suitcases with you on a dragon

dude if you fall asleep and slide out of your seat on a train, you just hit the floor

if you fall asleep and slide off a dragon thirty hundred feet in the air, you just die horribly


also trains carry like hundreds of people at once too so it's like, an accessibility thing since not everybody has a dragon
