044. [Video/Action for Goldenrod]
[Like so many transmissions today, this one opens up with the camera aimed straight up at the velvety-gray sky, with dry little flakes of snow drifting down. It also cuts in about halfway through a sentence--]
--ime to get some winter gear... Hey, network. Please enjoy five minutes of my dog being a spaz.
[It swivels down to focus on the plaza-- looks like Heather's walking back to the hotel from work and is finally getting a chance to enjoy the flurries (though she's c-c-c-cold. The whole sleeveless routine won't work for too much longer...). The flagstones are dusted with snow, and-- ... as promised, Cujo is being a spaz.]
[The orange-colored pup is lying on his side in the snow and just sort of... wriggling in place, snorfling around in the MAGICAL WHITE STUFF THAT IS FALLING FROM THE SKY. After a few seconds or two he suddenly surges upright, butt in the air and ears standing straight up. He stares, glassy-eyed, at the camera for a few seconds, and then lets out an explosive snort and goes tearing off in a random direction.]
['Zilla the toddler Totodile appears on the screen then, slipping and sliding after him through the snow at a laughably slower pace-- changing direction a few times as Cujo goes rocketing past in the opposite direction. Eventually he gives up and comes waddling back to Heather with a frustrated gargle. She laughs.]
Maybe when you get longer legs, buddy-- hey, let's see how Arty likes the snow. Ya like the snow, Arty?
[The camera turns and shows... well, this.]

.... I think she likes it.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....
.... I think she likes it.

[action]
Oh! Um... Maine, right? With the weirdos.
[action]
Thaaaat's the place.
In addition to weirdos, we also have lots of lobster.
[action]
[THIS BREAD IS SO DELICIOUS OMG--]
We mostly eat fish back home, though. And lots of coconuts.
[action]
[MAINE: STATE OF WEIRDOS. The south wasn't the only place with creepy religious hillbillies.]
We've got everything more or less everywhere in my world, but the New England area in general is famous for its seafood.
[action]
Really? What's your favorite kinda food, Heather?
[action]
Hm... that's a tough one.
[She tears off a piece of the bread, contemplating.]
Always liked sweet stuff.
[action]
I like sweet stuff, too! Coconut's my favorite.
[surprise, surprise right?-- Sora's going to tear through his half of breadloaf, and... well, he'll be completely startled when the waiter brings them another sometime after ordering. WHAT IS THIS TOMFOOLERY?]
[action]
Y'don't say? Me, I like... hm.
Chocolate's always a winner.
[And sheee'll just be grinning like a fiend at his surprise over the bread. THIS PLACE IS AN INFINITE BREAD MACHINE, SORA. WHAT WILL YOU DO.]
[action]
[emphasis on the "borrowed." and dude, Aladdin wouldn't even know what the heck to do with himself if he found himself in an infinite bread machine. Sora, however? he sort of has a better idea... he's probably going to hurt himself slowly trying to get through it all.]
[action]
[She smirks at him.]
Next time, try to be a little more sneaky. That receptionist was onto you.
[MOAR BREAD, ALL THE TIME, GET SOME. Luckily, the waiter's coming over to take their orders at last. Heather makes an 'after you' gesture to Sora.]
[action]
[Sora is going to play that off and order himself a huuuuge bowl of spaghetti, because obviously when you're stuffing yourself with bread the logical thing to do is order more carbs.]
[Action]
[Heather did the same-- psh who cared about carbs. They would need them to STAY WARM IN THE LONG WINTER TO COME.]
[Action]
[and after a few minutes of silently gnawing on bread:]
Hey, Heather?
[Action]
Yeah?
[Action]
[Action]
... I'm not sure.
[She rubs her chin a little bit, wondering how to put it. She doesn't want to wax too deep in front of Sora-- hell, she doesn't like waxing deep, period, really. It's not a happy subject and all things considered, Heather does try her best to stay positive.]
... If I did, it'd only be for one person.
Apart from him... not sure I would, to be honest.
[It didn't mean she didn't fully believe that OTHER people should go back if given the choice. Some people had important shit to be doing back there. ... But she didn't. She'd done her important job and the world didn't have much in it for her afterwards... or at least that's not what it looked like to her, just a year fresh of the incident in Silent Hill.]
[Action]
I kinda feel that way, too, but... there are a lot of things that need to be done. [and, back to his original thought and reason for bringing this up.]
Let's find a way to stay connected, okay? Even if we wind up separated on different worlds or something.
[Action]
If we can find a way? I'll sure as hell use it.
[Action]
[Action]
The ocean?
[Action]
[Action]
[Heather smiles. She wishes she could be that naiive again. She sure as heck remembers back when SHE believed stuff like that, but... yeah. Not so much anymore.]
Well, I live near the ocean-- or, well, I live on a coastal state, anyway.
I bet I could drop messages there from time to time.
[Action]
Okay, Heather! I'll send you letters telling you all about how hardcore I've gotten.
