[Heather knows because she went to sleep that night after talking what felt like forever-- almost positive that in the morning she'd wake up and that video message would be gone entirely, just a figment cooked up from her tired, bug-fried imagination and a whole lot of wishful thinking-- ... but nope. There it was.]

[Which of course meant that there was still a distinct possibility that she'd just gone CRAZY.]

[But hey. One good way to find out if THAT was true or not: Post stupid Pokemon videos to the network! If reality had indeed warped, maybe the responses she'd get would all be from Lovecraftian monstrosities and Picasso paintings instead of the fine people of Johto.]}

_{[The feed shakily settles on an intense drama unfolding on the floor of Heather's room.]

[The little surprise-Eevee who hatched on April Fool's Day is lying on her back on the floor, just waving her tiny, stubby legs and occasionally rolling back and forth fruitlessly-- her enormous, completely-floppy ears puddled on the floor on either side of her, apparently heavy enough to prevent her from rolling over and getting to her feet entirely. She's not making any complaining sounds, or even looking particularly distressed. Just... quietly flailing and tipping back and forth.]

[When the camera turns on, it's with Godzilla the Totodile approaching. Maybe to help her up?]

[... Nope.]}

I think he's jealous because this thing's been getting way more attention than him-- ohp-- look at that. He's jeaaalous!

_{[The little crocodile Pokemon had turned to face the screen, reptilian lips pouched in an angry pout.]}

Sorry, 'Zilla. I call it like I see it. You-- no, don't you shake your head at me. You're practically turnin' green right now.

Keep this up and you'll look like a normal alliga-- hey, where're you going?

_{[The camera shifts to follow Zilla as he waddles angrily off to the other side of the room to sulk underneath the bed. Heather calls after him.]}

[ HE'S RESISTING THE URGE TO MAKE A BEELINE FOR CHERYL. ]

[ He does a fine job of walking calmly over to the bed and greeting the Eevee, very happily so, scritching her gently and grinning like a fool - but he turns to Heather when he speaks. ]

We found an Eevee today, too. Rolling around in Ken's shirt.

_{[Now a lot fluffier than she was when she'd just come out of the egg, the Eevee makes a few happy puppy noises as she wobbles to her feet on the squishy bedspread to greet Miles.]}

Maybe they're just EVERYWHERE.

I doubt it - Eevees are supposed to be rare, but Ken looked delighted even though it was crawling around in the shirt he was wearing.

I think they're nice. [ So Cheryl gets more scritching. ]

They are pretty cute... nice temperament, too...

_{[It was a sort of refreshing change from the bratty Murkrow she'd hatched back in Violet... there was never a quiet moment with THAT thing around.]}

[Heather, meanwhile, actually looks surprised.]}

_{[There's a brief silence on Heather's part. She's not sure what to say-- she definitely respects Miles, but he IS just a kid. She can't go into the same kind of detail that she could with-- ... say, Kaito, or Phoenix.]

[But she smiles.]}

I wanna make sure I get to him-- ... or he gets to me, as fast as possible. ... But I don't really have any ridable Pokemon. _{[And most of the ones that were available to borrow were either too small to carry two people or ON FIRE. She's still waiting to hear back from Otacon about borrowing Liquid's Gyarados...]}

Pess is big enough to fit three. [ Not that he knows the friendly local Silent Hill resident is bad with dogs. ] If you ever need her, I'm sure she will be glad to take you.

Uh-- ... I, uh...

_{[Heather wasn't exactly great with dogs, either-- Cujo was one thing. But even the thought of turning HIM into shortbus-sized droolmonster made the hairs on the back of Heather's neck stand on end. And Harry? Well, Harry hadn't even had a lovable derp-dog around for ten months to get used to the concept with.]}

Dad, uh... he's... not good with dogs.

_{[And he wasn't even the one with the phobia.]}

Oh, alright. [ It's an understandable reason - he nods, though he tilts his head in thought. ] Would he be fine with Cujo, then?

_{[Heather pauses, glancing over at the Growlithe in question, who's sprawled over by the window, belly up and fast asleep. It's something she's been thinking about.]}

I'm not sure.

I think he'll be okay as long as Cooj keeps his distance. ... Trouble is, that's not exactly Cooj's style...

_{[She was pretty sure Harry would be fine with a dog who was well-behaved as long as he didn't have to go near it, but Cujo was just sort of convinced that EVERYBODY wanted to be near him.]}

He's really bad with dogs, huh...

[ Miles had to admit that, when he first met Cujo back when Pess was tiny, even he the hopeless dog lover had been taken aback and startled by his size. For a man who was not good with dogs, a Growlithe with the size and enthusiasm of Cujo would be... ]

Neither of us have exactly had good experiences.

_{[It was technically Heather's own fear of dogs that had resulted in the monstrous ones that Harry had encountered in Silent Hill. Endless cycle of trauma.]

[Which was why she was more than a little worried about what Harry's reaction to Cujo would be. ... He'd already died ONCE, she didn't think he needed a heart attack.]}

... [ Miles turns to Cujo. He'd will the dog to act calmer, as not to startle Harry Mason.

But there is a great doubt in his mind that Cujo would be able to resist a new friend. ]

_{[Heather was just gonna pray that Harry wouldn't have a sharp stick in his hands when (and it was definitely a WHEN, not an IF) Cujo decided to jump all over him.]}

[ Cujo would definitely think Harry wants to play fetch.

Miles blinks at Cujo for a few more seconds. ]

I'll make sure Pess, Pip, and Kirby don't run around your father too much.

Don't worry, I'm not too worried about them.

_{[They were all relatively well-behaved in comparison to Cujo-- Heather knows this because Cujo aside, she STILL gets the ol fight-or-flight thing going when other dogs are around, but thankfully none of those three have exhibited the same level of overly enthusiastic in-your-face friendliness as Cooj does.]}

That's good to hear.. but Pess can be daunting. It's not every day you see something that's as tall as her.

... Yeah. Might wanna keep her away from him.

_{[SHE was still totally wigged whenever she was in the presence of one of those things...]}
