_{[It's probably been a week and a half or so since anybody's heard a whole lot from Heather's end of the line-- given the recent turn of events, coupled with catching up on things with her father, she just hasn't been talking much.]

[But if anyone missed the sound of yet another ranty teenager on the 'Gear network, well, today their wishes and hopes will be realized.]

[A crackle of interference precedes her voice, and in the background there's the steady rumble of a Steelix making headway on a dirt path.]}

Totally fell off the face of the planet for a bit there.

Anyway, for those who care, Goldenrod just came into sight over the hill, so Dad and I'll be strolling into town within a couple hours, probably.

I'll be lookin' for a few of you as soon as we get checked in and stuff-- you guys know who you are. _{[She's lookin' at you, Kaito. Dinner plans aside, she still needs to give him that hug.]}

And uh-- Snake, you still in the hotel? I'll heal Solid up at the Center first if you want me to, but otherwise, I'm sure he'll be glad to see his Trainer. Sorry the trip wound up takin' so long.

[He snorts and opens his mouth to come up with a smart reply to that, but the hug completely cuts him off before he has the chance to say anything. Even if Johan and Kay were the huggy types, and even if he had grown used to that fact over the months he had spent traveling with him, close physical proximity still wasn't something he did very often.

So needless to say, he stands there a bit awkwardly at first... before it finally strikes him to hug her back, his own arms twining awkwardly around her back and encompassing her tightly.

... almost a bit too tightly, as if he's hanging on and never planning on letting go. But hey... he lost two really good friends back to back. It would make sense that he'd cling tightly to the third out of fear of losing her, too]

_{[She doesn't mind the tightness in the slightest. It's probably pretty obvious that she's been wanting this hug for awhile and even if he hadn't returned it, she wasn't gonna take no for an answer. They'd both lost close friends in the past month... and like hell was she going to keep wasting opportunities to let one of the ones who was left know how she felt.]

[She doesn't bother pulling out of the hug before speaking-- she'll probably just stay in the embrace until he lets go.]}

[He'll let go... eventually. But eventually isn't now, and he mumbles into her shoulder in response]

It was so easy to get introspective and dark when you were out there in the woods, even if you HAD been able to talk to people on the network-- it just wasn't until HERE AND NOW when she was BACK and able to physically see and touch the people she'd been thinking about that she could truly tell herself 'It's all right, they're still here'.]}

[And-- she is suddenly waaaaay too close and for some reason that makes him blush, so with a light cough he finally pulls away, hands on her shoulders and a grin stretching across his lips in an attempt to mitigate his blush]

I dunno, but it has to be something awesome. Sounds like you're gonna have to live up to your namesake.

_{[She pulls away too, although her embrace lingers just a couple seconds longer because c'mon, hugs man. She does quirk a slight brow at the blush, but doesn't say anything about it. Just grins crookedly right back at him.]}

[He is currently pretending that didn't happen, and lifting a hand to rub at his nose]
