_{[It's a fairly common occurrence for Godzilla the Totodile to hijack Heather's 'Gear-- he's sort of had an affinity for filming ever since he first hatched, after all. But apart from his one little act of philanthropy a few weeks back, he's actually been surprisingly absent for the most part, at least in the sense that he hasn't been filming with the 'Gear much, with or without permission.]

[But TODAY when Heather's feed fizzles on, it's not the blond trainer but instead the little blue crocodile Pokemon.]

[His pebbled brows are furrowed, though, and ... are those BAGS under his eyes? Is it even possible for reptiles to GET bags under their eyes? Is Heather just rubbing off on him or what?]

[He seems to be sitting on the little balcony outside his trainer's room at the Ecruteak Inn, stubby legs dangling off the edge between the rail bars. Ecruteak is a quiet town at night, and as such there's none of the loud nightlife that characterizes many late-night city posts. Just crickets, and the occasional sound of people or Pokemon moving about in the brightly-lit room behind him.]

[It's a moment or two before he actually says anything, but the look in his red eyes is deeper and more contemplative than the normally self-centered little animal usually has.]}

... What do you have to do to be a good Pokemon?

[Psh. 'Zilla has nothing to be afraid of, where Napalm is concerned. She's huge, but, quite literally has a 'gentle' nature.]

[She tilts her head to the side, looking as worried as a rock can look.]

I'm sure you're not. Why would you think that?

Because I'm spoiled and selfish and annoying.

_{[... HE'S MOSTLY PARAPHRASING THINGS THAT THE OTHER POKEMON HAVE TOLD HIM BLUNTLY in the last few months, after the... uh, biting incident. But they're true.]}

And I bit my trainer so hard she had to get stitches.

It's not selfish to want to get better. Or annoying.

... Why did you bite her?

... I was mad because she wasn't paying attention to me.

_{[... y-yeah it sounds really bad now but AT THE TIME HE'D BEEN REALLY MAD OKAY.]}

So you bit her...? Surely there was a better way.

[She just sounds so concerned. Poor baby, didn't your mommy teach you better?]

_{[8( N-NOT REALLY. To be fair, Heather wasn't the best trainer, and there had been other, uncontrollable factors at play when he'd done it, but he WAS a selfish little brat.]

[He just hangs his head. He feels terrible about it now and he's been trying to make up for it ever since.]}

I was really mad.

Would you ever do it again? Do you feel bad about what happened?

No!

I wanna be a good Pokemon now.

Not like... before.

Then you're not hardly a bad pokemon at all. You've just had some growing up to do.

You'll be fine, if you keep trying hard.

[... did we mention Napalm is seriously the mothering type?]

_{[IF ANYONE COULD USE SOME MOTHERING, IT'S PROBABLY HEATHER'S POKEMON. She's not exactly the most maternal of trainers. And in Zilla's case, being told he's got growing up to do is probably one of the more accurate bits of advice he's been given so far.]

[So... he sort of nods, looking down at the 'Gear.]}

[Napalm just bobs her head back. She looks a little like she's smiling.]

You'll be okay. And you can always borrow the 'gear to ask for help.
