80. [Voice/Action] Locked to Rise, backdated to the evening of October 6th
[TIME IS SHORT. The Tournament's only lasting so long, so Heather's gotta take advantage of the time she's in-town while she can. It's time to make good on a promise.]
[Which is why she's hurrying down the darkening streets of Goldenrod City for the first time in a good few months, hastily following the directions she's got written down on a scrap of paper. With the fights starting first thing in the morning, she's gotta squeeze out every last drop of bonding time the night will hold.]
[When she does reach her destination (with just a FEW wrong turns in the process), her first reaction is to stop and let out an impressed whistle.]
[... And then tug her PokeGear out of her pocket.]
[VOICE, to Rise]
RISE.
Your house is huge. Come let me in.

RISE.
Your house is huge. Come let me in.

[... It's settled. In addition to girltalk, tonight is going to turn into an experiment on the effects of sugarhighs on owls.]</sub.

[ she's selecting mint chocolate chip, herself. ]

For science.
[She holds the carton aloft and sort of makes it do a little jig in the air to show that YES SHE IS READY, turning away from the fridge.]

[Awww yeeeaaah this is SO much better than slumber parties in cramped hotel rooms. Heather might not be the girliest person at heart anymore but this is like being transported back to the few occasions when she HAD done stuff like this as a kid, and that is kind of awesome.]
[She flops down on one end of the couch.]
no subject
Okay, missy, fill me in. I haven't seen you in way too long.
no subject
Whoa, whoa. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
You first, man. Not much has happened on my end. [... Except for, you know, a LOT, but hey. It's kept her from communicating as much as she'd like with her not-in-the-immediate-area friends.]
'Sides, I haven't been keeping up with ANYTHING going on in Goldenrod since before you guys all moved into this place. Gimme the scoop! What all've I missed in the life of Rise?

Boys, huh?
[Heather's never been the best girltalker. But if LITTLE SIS HAS BEEN HAVING BOY TROUBLE, SHE WANTS TO KNOW, OKAY?]
[She leans in with a conspiratory brow-waggle, balancing the ice cream carton on her knees.]
Any faces I need to punch in?
'Cause you know I'd be happy to.
no subject
But you know, somehow... I think I've gotten a little bad at it. Or I just keep falling for the wrong ones.
no subject
[Heather may not have been the most experienced with boys (let's be honest, she really isn't. There were a few date-type things back in high school, and... okay there was definitely making-out at parties (not that she could remember half of that. DON'T DRINK JUST TO BE A REBEL, KIDS), but like... boys boys? Never really a thing. She'd been too busy breaking stuff and shoplifting.]
[BUT.]
[She remembers plenty of boy rants from the OTHER girls she hung out with. Not that they were anything like Rise.]
[She props her chin on one hand, brows creasing. DID SOMEONE HURT LITTLE SIS 8(]
The wrong ones?
[ELABORATE, GIRL.]
no subject
Either they're not interested, or they are, but there's someone else...
no subject
[Not that Heather's really ever been in the same position (and she likes it that way), but jeez, poor Rise.]
For the record, they're TOTALLY missing out. Just saying.
Whoever the someone else is?
Absolutely a downgrade in comparison.
[Biased? Yes. Rise is like, one of the most awesome people Heather knows, so she's automatically pretty high up there on the 'This person is better than the rest of other people' list. But seriously what kind of loser would go for someone else when they had a girl like Rise interested? SERIOUSLY.]
no subject
Enough about me for now, though-- how're boy things on your end?
no subject
[At the question, though, she sort of blinks, raising a brow, one side of her mouth quirking up.]
Boy things on my end?
Rise, hoooow long have you known me now?
no subject
no subject
C'mon, Rise, get with the program. Heather Mason doesn't have boy things, sheesh.
I can count off all the major boy-related experiences that've happened to me in recent weeks if those count, though.

[Okay, okay, business-time. She shakes her head as though getting down to business, and then starts to tick things off on her fingers.]
WELL.
One. I had numerous conversations with Vincent during which he implied unpleasant things about my moral character. Those are always fun.
Two, Iiiieeee.... ran into a random guy looking at houses in Olivine and thought he was totally gonna break into one of them but it turned out he was just lost. Haha, awkward.
Threeeeee, I bent Crow's arm behind his back because he told me I didn't look like a fighter and asked me all earnestly if I thought joining the tournament would be a good idea for me...
Uhhh... fouuuur, I ate ice cream on the hotel kitchen floor in my underwear at three AM with a thirty-something-year-old guy in pajamas....
[HEATHER HAS EXCITING BOY ADVENTURES DOESN'T SHE, RISE. But don't worry, she's still getting to the
incriminatinggood stuff.]no subject

[From the grin on her face, though, it was obvious she stuck that one in just for the sake of seeing Rise's expression.]
Anyway, let's see, what else...
I gave Snake's fire turtle thing to Henry because both of them like to smoke and the first thing he did was try to inhale some of it to see if it could give him a buzz... he coughed for the rest of the day.
Aaaaand... that Flash kid dared me to ask the locals if humans here had babies like normal or if they laid eggs because everything ELSE here does, because we're mature and these are important things to think about....
Hm.
Man, I didn't realize how few hilarious anecdotes I have lately...
Hm.
[She pauses for a minute or two, rubbing her chin. ... And then, snorts a little bit.]
Oh yeah... I like, friggin' cried all over Kaito awhile ago... that was embarrassing.
no subject
On Kaito? Wait-- did he make you cry?
no subject
[She pauses, blinking.]
Make me-- what? Oh, dude, NO. Noooo no no no.
Dude, if Kaito MADE me cry, I promise you I'd be hitting him, not crying on him.
No, I was-- ... it was something else, awhile back. Don't really remember too well 'cept I was kinda a mess at the time. [That's a dirty lie-- she remembers exactly what she was crying about. It just... happens to be... the same thing that had resulted in that spat between herself and RISE. Aaaaaand... yeah she's still not okay with talking about that.
Even though she needs to just man up and either let go of it or BE okay with talking about it.]no subject
One spoonful of ice cream later-- ]
So it's more like he helped you out?
no subject
[Heather smiles one of her quirky grins, and while it's definitely with the intention of getting that concerned frown off of Rise's face, it's not forced. Even if it had been during a... rough patch, she doesn't look back on the event unhappily. ... Even if it, uh. Was a little embarrassing.]
I was off by myself being all emo and broody and shit, and he came looking for me.
