105. FOURTH WALL POST [Action for Saffron City, anywhere in Saffron City! Video's okay too]
[You know what?]
[Heather's not even sure why she TRIES anymore.]

[So done. So done.]
Here we go again.
... Yes, Cooj, I still love you.
Just not right now.

[... But if Envy ever follows her to her world for whatever reason, he is absolutely gonna get subjected to an all-night He-Man marathon. Just sayin'.]
But yeah, uh, thanks.
... It's a little unfortunate, isn't it. I think I like your tree hair better.

[His grin is a lot more strained than usual, though.]
I'm stuck in this one for now, though. All my powers came back except the shapeshifting, and I woke up looking like this.
no subject
... What ARE your other powers besides the shapeshifting, anyway?
no subject
[But powers? Powers is a subject he's happy to change to. He holds up a hand, absently counting off each power on his fingers.]
Well...I can heal from any injuries right away, even if they kill me. I'm a lot stronger and faster than any normal human, so that lets me jump really high too.
I don't get hungry or tired or cold or sick, either. Heh, it's not too bad a deal, being an undead abomination.

I wish I got all that stuff when I died...

Having awesome superpowers does make up for a lot. And it's all for the cost of a soul.
[AMONG OTHER THINGS. But he says it a hell of a lot more casually than that sort of statement would normally call for from...well, anyone else but Envy. Because screw you existential angst; he's already dealing with being stuck in a form he hates, he ain't got time for you today. He can joke about his maybe-maybe-not missing soul if he wants.]
no subject
... A soul?
What d'you mean?
no subject
...Maybe.
[He scratches the back of his head; he used to be pretty sure he didn't. At least, until Johto happened. After a moment of consideration, he adds:]
I'm not supposed to have one.
[Hey, they never remember these weekends; no harm in telling her a few things he doesn't usually talk about.]
no subject
[She says this almost scornfully, as though he'd just told her that he was pretty sure he didn't have a nose. Or fingers.]
You talk and think and have feelings, don't you?
no subject
You don't need a soul for talking and thinking. Not in my world, anyway.
[He hesitates.]
...The feelings are new. I think. They stuck around when I went home that time, so maybe they've always been there after all. [He laughs quietly.] Anger's a feeling, I guess, even if I never really counted it before.
Still, homunculi aren't supposed to have them. We're incomplete.

Maybe it's different in your world, but as far's I'M concerned, you've got one. Souls aren't something that're exclusive to people who came into existence the normal way.
Otherwise I'D be screwed, too.
