I'll probably get back to you. ... Probably. Peace out."

"What are you going to do now?"
One person in Shark House knew. Henry had no problem not saying anything--it was practically his main character trait. But he hated to think of his friends having to hide, no matter the reason.
As an afterthought, he reached out to pat her on the shoulder.

Letting him pat her, she sort of gestured absently around them.
To be fair, there had been a lot going on.

He had important Your Girlfriend's Older Brother things to say to him--but also the usual congratulations. Now that things were out in the air, Henry smiled more broadly. He was happy for them--and happy that him knowing hadn't upset Heather. And also that WHO WAS RIGHT?
HENRY FUCKING TOWNSHEND WAS RIGHT!!! THATS WHO!!!
"And hey. If you ever need anyone to talk to..."

"Heh. Gonna give him the 'I'd totally have a gun collection if it were legal here' conversation in Dad's place? ... And yeah, I know. ... But you've been going through some shit lately, though, and 'Hey so I'm dating your best friend' is a little... well, I won't call it frivolous, but... you know what I mean."

Henry puffed out another little sigh and nodded.
"I know. And I know we've had some...conflicting opinions about all that. I'm still glad I know. Whatever happens."
no subject
It wasn't that it had driven a HUGE wedge between them or anything-- she understood, after all. A few years ago, she was Henry. But it had definitely been a bit of a stresser, knowing that for probably the first time, they'd arrived at a serious ideological impasse.
But if this conversation proved anything... it was that they'd get through it like they get through anything else.
"I'm... glad too. ... Even if you kinda gave me a bit of a heart attack there."

And in the back of his mind he was sure The Fridays were still lurking around on the calendar. You just never knew.

"Seven months. I guess we didn't do too bad if it took this long for anybody to notice, huh?"
And now that she thought of it, they had gotten used to not needing to be subtle while they were on the road. It had been hard to come back to the house and suddenly not be able to do little couple-y things whenever they wanted.
