That last part is ... kind of the problem.
we were astronauts. We were explorers. And... then we found out aliens existed and they wanted new entertainment.
We were taken captive. Back on Earth, they wrote the mission off as a failure, wrote us off as dead... due to "pilot error".
That's the short version.
text;
Sorry that sounds like a fairly tame reaction, I promise I legitimately get how horrible that is
text;
Short version still:
One of the aliens ended up helping get me out. I crashed back on earth, met the team. And then we fought monsters in space.
[Also a tame summary. Leaving out a lot of the gory details he figures aren't totally necessary.]
And my friend
is from the time we were declared dead on earth. Months behind us.
When he got here - he kept saying how much he wanted to go home, to save us. Even though, by then?
there was nothing he could have done.
so i told him not to try
text;
I mean
You didn't really mean it like it came out, right?
Does he know you're from his future?
text;
And
no I don't think I did ? I meant he should just
stay put. Keep going on. Because if he's not where he was in his future
I don't know if anything would have worked out.
Am I still making sense?
text;
So like, you were telling him not to waste his time agonizing over something that he couldn't affect, but he took it like you were telling him that helping his friends AT ALL was pointless?
text;
That's it.
Heather that's exactly it. That's |
That's what I wanted him to know.
[Wow, it's kind of incredible. She says one sentence and it's like everything just clicks. Everything he did wrong, everything he'd been trying to say.]
You're amazing
text;
[Can't help but poke fun at that-- but it sounds like that really is the meat of the problem. Which, THANK ARCEUS, was way easier to unearth than the tangled interpersonal problems of some people.]
[
Looking at you all three Elric brothers.]Words suck and are dumb. Do you think he'll listen if you try to explain to him what you really meant?
text;
helps to have someone just point it out. Just like that.
[And it helps to talk to someone who isn't that connected to the situation. Heather is about as removed as it gets, aside from knowing Shiro himself.]
It's worth a try. I just need to get him to talk to me.
text;
I don't know this guy obviously but I'm sure he'll come around
This is the kind of thing that just
Happens sometimes
Between friends
text;
But still
Thank you. For listening and everything.
Really owe you one here, Heather
Re: text;
But maybe I'll take you up on that sometime anyway
Now go find your friend
text;
But yeah
I will.
text;
Good luck!
text;
I... think it might be best if I ask Botan.
For a cake.
text;
Just throwing the idea out there.
Now stop texting me, go salvage your friendship
text;
And... thanks again, Heather.
