I can see POLLUTION over the treetops which means I've gotta be getting close-- hope I didn't pass you yet.

_{[That overcast gray sky overhead is somehow oppressive, even on the video feed. Yet, Heather looks cheerful. Maybe she doesn't notice it-- it IS rather... tame on the surface in comparison to the ghastly fog that had come rolling in on silent feet before the hallucinations had set in about a month ago... Not to mention this weird overcast state is more or less the norm a lot of the time where Heather comes from. Or maybe it's just that she's happy to be on the road again-- it's the first time she's made a transmission of her own since leaving Azalea. Not to mention now that Minnie's safe, the trip has a bit less urgency to it.]}

Man, I don't know about anybody else, but I'm sure glad that frosty air is gone...

Anyway, uh-- guys, I had a question.

What kinds of Pokemon are around here? Hal caught one of those... teleporting bald fox things, but I haven't seen much of anything else. _{Except for the bugs in my sleeping bag at night...} _{[THANKS SNAKE YOU REALLY HELPED HER SLEEP SOUNDLY.]}

It's kinda been awhile since I've caught anything, and while I am gonna be getting the rest of my guys back soon, Cooj is getting uh... sorta tired.

_{[... Not that it, you know, showed. He was still romping merrily in and out of the frame as Heather walked. But it was true enough, now that she was going ahead by herself and the Growlithe had to do all the battling on his own, the traveling without aid of Pokemon Center was making him a little less enthusiastic about chasing things off.]}

I don't even think I have any Pokeballs, but ... any recommendations?

I'm open to anything.

[and while she butters up her dog, he releases his search bird and sends her to the skies to find Heather.

[In any case, it's probably not too long before the recognizable sounds of Cujo the Magnificent are audible, and it's probably not too long after that before a big rusty blur of orange and cream comes BARRELING UP OUT OF THE UNDERBRUSH. At Kaito's face. HELLO SMILEY OH MY GOD HI]}

[DOG. Kaito barely has time to let out an 'ACK' of surprise before he is ATTACKED BY A VICIOUS CREATURE aka greeted happily but a bundle of excited fur! Biz and Kei, who were both traveling behind him as neither of them enjoy being stuck in their pokeballs for long, let out surprised cries of their own as Kaito does down.

Good thing he's laughing]

Oi oi, Cujo--! It's nice to see you too!

[Komi spots Heather from above and lets out a cry to inform Kaito of this, before she swoops down from the skies toward the blonde traveling woman]

_{[~*~DOG~*~]

[Cujo wastes no time whatsoever in placing his paws on either side of Kaito's head and attempting to coat every inch of him he can possibly reach with a nice layer of drool in order to show the magician JUST HOW MUCH HE HAD MISSED HIM OMGOMGOMGMGMG.]

[Meanwhile, Heather had been keeping up valiantly but Cooj was a lot better at bounding through the undergrowth than she was, so she'd lost her view.]}

JEEZ, Cooj, wait up! I-- oh!

_{[She recognized that bird! Picking up her pace a bit, she lifted an arm in invitation-- though she... possibly did not realize how much those talons were gonna hurt if she WAS landed on.]}

[... ew drool. Kaito pushes on Cujo a bit in an attempt to free himself from the PUDDLES OF SLOBBER he is about to be treated to]

C-C'mon, Cujo--! Can't you think of a better way to say hi? Geez!

[Meanwhile, Komi swoops down and lands on the ground next to heather, realizing that landing on her arm is proooobably not a good idea with her talons. She ruffles her feathers a bit and peers up at Heather with GIANT BEADY EYES, before she turns around and begins to hop across the ground to lead the girl toward her trainer and Cujo]

_{[8c BUT HE LOVES YOU!!]

[However, he's a little worn-out from the trip as a whole, so after a few tries, Kaito is able to push him off without too much trouble. Though Cujo rolls to his feet instantly, tail whirling like mad, and continues to jump up and down like a spaz anyway.]

[NO HE CANNOT THINK OF A BETTER WAY TO SAY HI BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY WAY!]}

All right, lead the way!

_{[Heather follows after the guide-bird, hitching the straps of the rolled-up sleeping bag up a little more securely on her shoulders.]}

[Kaito lifts one hand to wipe the slobber from his face as he scratches behind Cujo's ears, and Kei the Eevee boldly steps forward to sniff at the Growlithe. WHO IS THIS STRANGE POKEMON IS HE FRIENDLY?

And before long, Komi manages to lead Heather to the group!]

_{[Cujo looks absolutely delighted to see ~*~other Pokemon~*~, and he leans down a little to curiously snuffle all over Kei's ears. 8U NEW FRIEND?? NEW FRIEND?!]}

Lookin' good there, Smiley! _{[... is Heather's greeting as she finally picks her way through the bushes and encounters her buddy for the first time in... had it been two months now? Her tone is mocking, but the grin on her face, even if it's a little smirky, shows just how glad she is to see him as she offers a hand to help him up (if he's still on the ground, anyway!)]}

[NEW FRIEND?! Kei is as curious as they get, and he's ALL UP IN CUJO'S BUSINESS sniffing him out and trying to get a sense of who this new Pokemon is]

Oi! [Kaito glances up from the two canine Pokemon and offers Heather a HUGE grin. He is just as happy to see her as she is him.

He takes her hand and allows her to pull him to his feet] Long time no see!

_{[NEW FRIEND!! A-quiver with excitement, Cujo proceeds get to know Kei by snorfing all over him in true dog fashion. He's surprisingly gentle with things smaller than he is despite his rambunctiousness, so he's careful not to trample the little guy or butt him with his snout too hard.]

I'll say! You're a sight for sore eyes, man!

_{[She takes advantage of the fact that she has his hand for the moment to tug him into a slightly-awkward (because gawd is Heather out of practice with having friends she cares enough about to embrace at all) but nonetheless heartfelt BRO HUG.]}

I thought nature was gonna finish me off before I got a chance to see you or any of the other guys in the flesh again!}

[Which is more than can be said for Kei, who may be small, but he is a determined little guy.

Kaito is... still not quite used to physical affection himself, but Kay and Johan are slowly teaching him the ways of brohugs, so he returns the brohug about as awkwardly as Heather does. When he's done, he pulls away, but doesn't let go of her hand]

Geez, I thought we'd all be traveling so much we'd never get the chance to meet again! Violet City seems like so long ago, too.

_{[Luckily, Cooj is fairly hefty so Kei can be as rough as he wants. The rusty dog was now play-bowing and making whuffing, snorty noises, his tail going back back and forth like a flag. 8U DOES NEW FRIEND PLAY?]

[S-sob they can learn about it together. At least Heather hasn't graduated to ferociously noogieing him yet. So far she's just been doing that to Otacon because he's wimpy and she can get away with it.]}

Haha, I know, right? Seriously. _{[It wasn't so bad considering everyone could stay in touch with the 'Gears, but... there was still something to be said for being able to talk to someone right in front of you, in the flesh.]} How long's it been since you guys pulled outta there-- two months?

At least we'll all be in Goldenrod for awhile, right?

_{[She hoped, anyway. Because she sure wasn't planning on leaving for awhile.]}

Geez, two months? Feels like it was longer than that.

We don't plan on leaving Goldenrod anytime soon, that's for sure.

_{[Cue RETURN BATTING. Cujo was utterly thrilled with his new bro.]

[Heather laughed sheepishly at that, rubbing the back of her neck.]}

Yeah, it seems more like-- .... more than two months. So much's happened...

Kaito finds himself laughing at Heather's claims of nature's evilness, and he quirks an eyebrow at her before responding slyly]

You didn't go camping much as a kid, did you?

Dad wasn't much of an outdoorsman, either.

Every time he tried to pitch a tent, somebody got injured somehow.

C'mon, tents aren't that hard to pitch! [Though Kaito has certainly had his fair share of vs. THE TENT fights on his camping trips at home]

Tents came to life when he was around. And not in a good way. In a painful way.
