B-B-B-B-BAD TO THA BONE. Until someone pulls out a bag of actual milkbones. Then it's like they've never even heard the word 'hellhound'.
Originally named Valtiel, Vickie was the starter of one of Heather's super awesome buddies from home, left in her care when they disappeared from Johto. He was immediately renamed, which tooooootally nothing to do with wanting to spite stupid Vincent's stupid naming choices and everything to do with just already having a Pokemon named after the good archangel. Totally.
But despite his villainous origins, Vickie is a calm and well-trained dog, interested mainly in doing what he's told and obeying his trainer. While he was a Rocket starter, Vickie was simply raised to obey his trainer without question and has no inherent urge to do wrong. And since Heather was who his old trainer intended him to go to, he is obedient to her and eager to please. Sadly, on account of him being a HUGE ASS DEMON DOG WHO USED TO BELONG TO VINCENT, Heather is still somewhat wary of him. She's used to cute shaggy Growlithes, not big demonic hell-dobermans who were hand-trained by a cultist.
Speaking of big demonic hell-dobermans, her second Houndoom acquisition, the starter of her old friend Liquid, is bigger, more demonic, and an absolute hellspawn. Arrogant and bossy, Huan likes to think he runs the joint and quickly appointed himself the alpha of the pair. But he's not inherently evil, either-- just a big lunk with delusions of grandeur.
Vickie tolerates his shenanigans and puts up with being considered 'second best', although he really wishes Huan would stop desperately trying to flirt with Cleo. She's not that into you, buddy.
